What can we say? The cabin was lovely, clean and well appointed. The welcome gift was a very thoughtful extra. The views over the lake and countryside are amazing. Such a relaxing, peaceful holiday. We will definitely be back here again. The pool was great for the kids and easily accessible. Walking sailing and cycling all within a few minutes drive or lovely woodland walk. Perfect family holiday.
Booked this place specifically because of the swimming pool. On arrival discovered pool not open but told it would be the next day. It wasn't, and when questioned about it the proprietors had a 'not my problem' attitude. They gave us the offer to leave, so a full refund was agreed for week two and we went off somewhere else, having had the first week of our break ruined. The cabin itself was actually bigger than I expected but not as comfortable as I had hoped. The furniture is not very comfortable and the beds were, quite honestly, horrible, I tried all of them over the week and slept badly on every one. There is no sound insulation at all and my husband was kept awake every night by a dripping sound coming from the boiler in the bathroom. The shower is alright, plenty of hot water but the shower attachment is so close to the door that it is impossible to not get the bathroom floor soaking. If you are intending to cook then be prepared for frustration in the kitchen area as the cooker is right next to the sink and is not a workable setup. The surrounding area is OK, the lake is nice and you can walk all the way around it, but there is - surprise surprise - no swimming allowed *SIGH* All in all we wish we hadn't bothered. I can honestly say this place has no redeeming features whatsoever.
