“We didn't want to leave it was a wonderful place to stay”
Reviewed 12 January 2016 for a stay in December 2015

We had a splendid stay at Ecole au Gite. The place is clean, spacious and recently renovated, the modern kitchen is well equipped. We were there with our five adult children over Christmas for a period of 9 days and never once felt crowded - it worked very well. We just loved the fire that burned recycled wood beads it was all very cosy.
We were ostensibly staying in the area to visit our great uncle's grave at Sucrerie Colin Camps on the 100th anniversary of his death at just 16 yrs old but Ecole au Gite was good central location close to Arras, Lens and Lille.
We highly recommend this accommodation and location especially if you like it quiet. Agnez-lès-Duisans is a small village with only a bakery but what a bakery.

“Beautiful”
Reviewed 3 November 2015 for a stay in October 2015

We were welcomed into the gite with a log fire already lit, a nice touch on a Octobers afternoon. The place was decorated lovely and was spacious for a family of 4 and a family of 3 together. The kids loved exploring round and were particularly fond of the dortoir which had two sets of bunks and their own private lockers with keys to keep thier toys in etc. You will need a car to travel around around as the area is quite remote but a large supermarket called " auchan" can be reached in 10-15 minutes. The only watch out is the stairs are not suitable for toddlers. Our children are 6 and 7 and we still found ourselves saying be careful on the stairs which they were. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking nice French dinners and the owners were really friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend and would return

We had a nice stay at Ecole au Gite. The place is clean, cute and recently renovated, the modern kitchen is well equipped and the whole place is very suitable for kids. Thank you Matthieu for arranging an extra baby crib and for your hospitality :-)

“Lovely house in lovely location”
Reviewed 8 August 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We stayed here as part of a family reunion including my parents (in their seventies) and my children, 2, 6 and 8. Downstairs bedroom and bathroom was ideal for my parents. The kids loved the bunk beds in the bedroom. Garden was nice although weather was not good enough for us to use it properly. Electronic gates kept garden secure. There is a bakery in the village which we loved walking to to get bread each day. Nearest supermarket was about ten mins drive. Welcome pack was very welcome. Arras about 15 mins drive - beware we arrived on a Sunday evening and it was very hard to find any shops open to stock up for supplies so make sure you are prepared - I actually love the fact that France still takes a day off on Sunday. Good location for travel - we caught the train from Arras to Paris one day (55 mins) and drive to Bruges and Ypres another day. Really good road access is required. Lovely village location.
