Operated by a fantastic young couple from Northern Ireland, this spotlessly clean, well appointed bijou apartment in a converted cellar with a wooden entrance terrace offers a great place to stay in the pretty village of Paulhe above the Tarn River. Although tucked away in one of the many narrow streets of this ancient village, parking can be found near the church a short walk away. The apartment is a visionary fusion of old and new, with vaulted ceilings of exposed brickwork, but with all the mod cons needed to make your stay pleasurable: free wi-fi, a fully fitted kitchen, air-con, flat screen TV, bathroom with power shower and a washing machine. And we loved the coloured ambient lighting! Our hosts were warm, friendly and welcoming and gave us a great tip for a restaurant in nearby Millau where we enjoyed a sumptuous dinner. For the price, this apartment with its charming fusion of old and new is a great base for touring the scenic Causses and Cévennes region. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.
