We booked our studio during the peak Easter Skiing season and found this hotel to be a very good choice. Although compact, the studio was very well appointed and we enjoyed an excellent view from our balcony. I enjoyed the spa/sauna/hammam facility in the basement at a small extra charge and the hotel had a beautiful sunny garden for relaxation and reading etc. The wifi was very poor but that didn't prevent us from enjoying our stay. Great location for access to the ski lift and centre of town. Front of house staff were very helpful.

Staed here for one night on transit through the Pyrenees ad used as a base for walking in Pont d'Espagne. Hotel is super easy to find (has a huge illuminated sign on the side). Parking is not dedicated, public, and insecure, opposite the hotel. We did not have difficuly finding a space, but it might be tight at peak times.

Hotel reception was excellent and helpful. The room was clean, basic, and functional (we were in a hotel room, rather than an appartment room), but is in serious need of a refresh. We were on the top (8th) floor, so it was quiet! Breakfast was plentiful, and good for this standard of hotel. Overall this was a "functional" stay, and the hotel is fine if you are intending to use it just as a base for sleeping. It is a little expensive for this standard.

We booked a double room while we were passing though on a hiking holiday.
The Lys gave us a free upgrade to an apartment.
The apartment was spacious and clean.
The wi-fi worked well throughout.
Breakfast was in a small space almost like a corridor but I suppose that in busier times of year, a larger room is used.
All the staff we spoke to were agreeable and friendly.

Hello my name is Eleanor Thomas .I am 12 years old and I am staying in the hotel le lys in cauterets .
I just wanted to say that I find that these apartments are very good And organised because they're quite small but they are very clean and super compact .We have a lovely view over the town and the slopes .
The only design fault of this hotel is that the bunk beds aren't very comfy and especially if your on the top bunk like me because the beds are quite small, and in the night Im really scared of falling out of the bed .
The other good thing about this place is that its right in the middle of town and not too far away from the telecabines where the steep hill takes ten minutes to climb and very painful especially when you are wearing ski boots! There are only 2 days left in this wonderful place so im quite unhappy ....

The staff are warm and friendly. The accommodation is warm and clean, without frills. We had a free upgrade to a room with a kitchenette and dining table, double bed and bunk beds in a small 'annexe'. This would have been ideal for a family. The kitchenette was very well equipped. The sauna/steam room and Jacuzzi is really good and can be booked out for the hour to yourselves. For us the only downside was the bar/lounge area which isn't very cosy. There is a log fire and a small bar which is adequate. if they upgraded this area it would make a big difference to the whole experience at the hotel. For families this hotel would be great - there's a good games room and a big TV area too. Internet access was awful!
