Description: The Aspinall Arms is found right in the heart of the Ribble Valley, and sits on the banks of the river overlooking the medieval All Hallows church and the 14th century Great Mitton Hall on the raised bluff opposite. With terraced and landscaped gardens outside, and flagged floors and open fires inside, it is just the place for walkers, cyclists and anglers to mingle with the friendly locals.

Three friends and I were out to celebrate my birthday on Easter Monday. It was a dreadful afternoon with torrential rain and maybe as a consequence of this, the place was very busy. We had booked thankfully and were given a cosy table next to the fire.

We shared one of the large charcuterie platters as our starter - it's such a sociable and inclusive way to eat we always feel. Three of us had the poached egg and fishcake dish with the addition of some chips and the fourth member of our party had the steak and ale pudding. All pronounced the food delicious and we were too full to contemplate a pudding.

Service was excellent, efficient but unobtrusive.

Decided to stop off here on our way back from Skipton.Having dined at the Three Fishes last time around here we opted to give this place a go!
The lad that served me was helpful and took our drinks order.
As it was our first time here it wasn't clear what the ordering process was .Turned out to be waiter service at your table.
Food ordered from a pretty good choice but limited for vegetarian options.
The staff were friendly, attentive and ensured that we were happy with our meals.

We chose bread oil and balsamic vinegar to start with. The quantity was very good. Service was prompt and friendly. My companion chose a roast dinner and struggled to get through it all. All the pub was very busy we weren’t kept waiting and were not made to feel rushed. Would go again

Lovely environment but very poor service. Had to keep asking for drinks over again. Long time for food to arrive and when it did it was average standard and luke warm. We think it had been prepared and left sitting around waiting for the staff to serve it. No smiles from staff and no-one checked to see how we were enjoying our meal.

Unlike other recent reviews, we could not fault the food or service at this restaurant. The Aspinall Arms is a very cosy country pub/restaurant located in a beautiful part of rural Lancashire and for us, well worth the 50 mile drive to get there. We went for Easter Sunday lunch and, as expected, the restaurant was very busy. We were welcomed by mainly young but friendly, professional staff, and despite being busy, the bar and wait staff were quietly efficient and our meals and drinks were served promptly. We had mains, desserts and coffee and we were in and out of the restaurant within a comfortable two hour period.
The food was very good, particularly the desserts which were scrumptious. The veggie options were thin on the ground but what we had was enjoyable.
As an (important) aside, the rest room facility were noticeably clean and hygienic. The car park is massive and accommodates a large number of cars.
If there have been problems at the restaurant in the recent past, the issues have been fully rectified as far as we were concerned, and the (young) staff were especially friendly, courteous, proficient and well organised. We'll certainly go again. Recommended!
