Three friends and I were out to celebrate my birthday on Easter Monday. It was a dreadful afternoon with torrential rain and maybe as a consequence of this, the place was very busy. We had booked thankfully and were given a cosy table next to the fire.
We shared one of the large charcuterie platters as our starter - it's such a sociable and inclusive way to eat we always feel. Three of us had the poached egg and fishcake dish with the addition of some chips and the fourth member of our party had the steak and ale pudding. All pronounced the food delicious and we were too full to contemplate a pudding.
Service was excellent, efficient but unobtrusive.
