Looking for somewhere to stay overnight on a visit to Avignon, we happened upon Les Cedres & what a very good find it turned out to be. The Owner & host could not have been more welcoming & helpful, plus his English was excellent. Phew!! The Hotel is quirky but very clean & the rooms comfortable. Les Cedres is a 35-minute walk from the Palais des Papes & Le Pont d’Avignon. There is also a regular bus service into the Town & car-parking near to the attractions. We had Dinner & Breakfast in the Hotel Restaurant & both were excellent. We much enjoyed our stay at Les Cedres & out thanks go to all but particularly to our host.

We had a car, so staying at Les Cedres worked well for us while attending a wedding in Avignon. Without wheels, it would have been impractical. Our room was clean and comfortable, but for some reason, something gave off an odor that I suspected was mold. The large pool also seemed to attract families with boisterous children. However, our room was sheltered from the main traffic flow, so we weren’t bothered by any noisy intrusions. Breakfast was not included in our room rate, but it was available and smelled good.

My wife and I spent this last Easter weekend at the Hotel Les Cedres and what a wonderful stay! Christophe welcomed us into his quant and comfortable Hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone who plans on visiting Avignon and surrounding areas. It made a great base camp. We had dinner at the Hotel Les Cedres restaurant our first night and I still think about the scallop starter!! Delicious!! Christophe did everything to make our stay great! On Easter Sunday we were late for breakfast and had to get on the road for a 6 hour drive back to Zurich SW and when I approached Christophe about "where" to go get a cup of coffee he not only waved us into the dining room for coffee but also brought out a few croissants and let us eat and enjoy coffee while he and his stay cleaned up breakfast and no charge!! Such hospitality!! Merci' Beacoup!! Great stay!! Even better service!! Thanks Christophe!!

Room Tip: Closer to main building the wifi is a little better but quiet honestly we had such a great stay we didn't even worry about it !

It was a pleasant surprise to turn off a street in the outer suburbs of Avignon into a tranquil garden of a maison bourgeoise studded with cedar trees. (The entrance between other properties is hard to spot, but look for the "Logis" sign.) Clusters of mini bungalows have been built in the grounds, each with A/C, free wifi, en-suite bathroom and patio (and where dogs appear to be accepted). Alternatively, there are rooms in the main house. There is an illuminated swimming pool next to the restaurant, which has a large covered terrace. We chose the menu de jour at €29 pp, which was excellent: crayfish paté, then steak in a fig sauce, the best bavette we have tasted for a long time, followed by a calisson ice cream (a speciality of Aix-en-Provence), washed down with a bottle of Bandol rosé. The small hotel team gave excellent service. Altogether, we were very pleased with our stay. If we looked hard for anything to criticise, we would say that the bungalows could be better cleaned. (But we are used to Swiss standards!!)

Room Tip: For tranquility we chose a garden bungalow with en-suite bathroom and own patio - good for an apero and morning tea.
