We had lunch here on a day trip to Mont Louis on Le Train Jaune. The dining area in the bar looked nice but was full so we were led to the restaurant which is quite dated looking. However the food wasn't bad - we ordered raclette for 2, which I haven't had for many years. We got 5 full size baked potatoes, a small amount of raclette cheese, gherkins and a mixture of cold meats. We were brought more cheese when we had finished - twice as much as we were originally given, but all we had left to go with it was potatoes! The welcome from the lady who took us to our table was frosty, but the waiter was friendly and polite.

Stopped on our way to Mont Louis for a light lunch and bottle of wine.
The menu was limited as mid afternoon but local wine good and Croque Monsieur excellent and tasty. Portion of chips generous and service good. Waiter friendly and helpful. The place was a bit run down though.

Arrived here on the train, which was a lovely trip. We were seated quickly, however waited an age to be served. The waiting staff were disinterested and rather offhand. The location was beautiful; sadly the same can not be said of the food. We had a dreadful meal. The steak was tough and gristly. The salad paysanne came with lumps of tough grey meat nestling in a sea of grease. The dessert du jour did not improve our overall culinary experience, with cheap shop bought patisseries accompanied with a squirt of uht cream. Would definitely take the train again but would recommend you take a packed lunch. Having returned, one of our party is now unwell with an upset stomach. We will not be returning to eat here

Stopped of at Mont Louis while taking a trip on Le Train Jaune. It was lunchtime and along with fellow passengers, we headed for the first restaurant we saw which was Le Clos Cerdan. Granted there was a slight influx of hungry clients all at the same time, but this this seemed to put the main waiter under pressure who ranted a little when, after a significant wait, I asked for the menus he had just taken from our neigbouring diners. " It is not possible to serve everyone when they come in together" - I was told. I only asked for the menus that he had in his hand! Unfortunately this seemed to set the tone for the remainder of the meal.- one minor requested escargots and was told it was 'too spicy' for children, though they had it elsewhere before. 2 scoops of ice-cream were ordered but we were informed one only came with the menu, despite saying we would pay for the extra scoop! The food was okay and the menu option (3 courses) good value. The starter of baked goat's cheese in filo pastry was the best part of the meal. The steak looked grisly on the plate but was tender enough. I would gladly return to Mont Louis but next time, I will keep going towards the citadel and have something to eat at one of the cafes there.

Just off the Little Yellow Train from Villefranche de Conflent. Got off at Mont Louis and this was the first watering hole we came to. As we had young children with us we stopped for a drink before venturing into the walled town where there are more restaurants. This was a great place to stop for a beer and a coffee. The restaurant looked tempting but we'd only just arrived so wanted to explore further before committing ourselves. They were very welcoming and despite a mix up when the maitre de thought we wanted a table for 5 to have lunch when all we wanted was a drink their manner didn't change, still welcoming and good service, even as far as giving us good directions to the other attractions. I checked out the menu on TripAdvisor and have to say I was tempted. Maybe another time. Certainly can't fault the cleanliness, the welcome and the service. The beer was good too (Estrilla) can't speak for the coffee but I liked the place.
