A genuine, friendly hotel. Warm welcome and plenty of helpful advice. My room was clean and very comfortable with a powerful shower and great views. Good breakfast. The situation in the centre of this charming town was perfect. I don't often rave about hotels, but this really was great!

The hotel looks somewhat ordinary from the outside but the rooms are great. Extremely clean and well appointed.

Very friendly management. Went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable.

The hotel adjoins the Bar Pablo, one of the iconic bars of this wonderful village. Owners Claude and Bruno and the other boys always have something to say; Anthony speaks excellent English. Good place for watching the rugby and a must-visit on Saturday mornings, when Ceret is packed out.

Room Tip: Quietest rooms are at the back of the hotel.

I would echo previous reviews in their praise of the Hotel des Arcades in terms of charm and location. However, I don't agree that it needs to upgrade its amenities; the slightly old-fashioned style is part of the hotel's charm, and a very welcome contrast to the ubiquitous modern hotel chains. In essence, you get what you pay for - and the hotel is good value for money. The reception staff are extremely helpful and enthusiastic, and went beyond the call of duty to help me find a backroad route back to Toulouse when the motorways were completely choked on a public holiday. Long may modest French hotels like this flourish!

Situated in the heart of Ceret, within easy walking distance of a selection of Cafes'/ Bars'/ Shops / Museums/ Galleries, it would be hard to better the position.
Hotel des Arcades has a new Proprietor as of 1st May 2017 and a charming and seriously helpful new Manager, who also speaks adequate English - as do some of the other Staff. There is a lift to the upper floors.

The decor, especially the bedrooms, is of older French style, think dark maroon quilted bedcover and dark wood furniture. The curtains by contrast, of bright striped material. Our room, at the back, overlooking rooftops was quiet and in the hot weather, cool. The French doors, leading to a small verandah, were adequate ventilation. The en suite bathroom was adequate, although utilising the hand shower with no shower curtain meant that a generous amount of water reached the bathroom floor! With no wind we hung the towels/bath mat over the verandah wrought iron rail to dry.
We would stay here again - it would be nice to think that the new Owner will, given time, upgrade the Decor/ Facilities.

This hotel is typical of so many in France - modest bedroom and inadequate bathroom.
The layout of the hotel was confusing with our bedroom being between two floors accessed by a minute lift. The bedroom defined as a studio had a kitchenette, a separate and sunny lounge and a rooftop area, so plenty for your money! The bathroom was poor with no bath and a rather unpleasant shower tray. However a price of 80 euros to include breakfast was good value although one night stay was probably enough!
The hotel offered secure parking for 6 euros per night.
