“Stay 2 weeks in Languedoc”
Reviewed 9 September 2016 for a stay in September 2016

I will recommend the village, the house and Languedoc. The village i located between the beach and the Pyrenees. The house is perfekt for four adaults and two kids. The kids room is located in the same floor. There i three toilets. One has shower, one has bath. The house has both washing machine and dishing machine. In 5 minutes walk there is bakery, grosery, take away pizzeria and bar/cafe. The house has high standard. The village is about 1000 years old and the streets are narrow. From the bacony you can look at the wineyards.

“Excellent small village accommodation central to many attractions”

The owner met us as agreed and the accommodation met the expectations we gained from earlier reviews.
We appreciated the two bottles of local provided and enjoyed consuming them on the balcony with a great vista..
The house was roomy for the four of us and the beds comfortable.

We found the location excellent for day trips in the area.

Our only regret was the local restaurants were not open or difficult to locate, but we still enjoyed eating take away on the balcony.

The house was very good value for the rental price.

No hesitation in recommending the Ramparts

“Fantastic location to explore Languedoc”
Reviewed 15 June 2016 for a stay in June 2016

We stayed at The Ramparts for five days in June. We wanted to stay in a relaxing spot away from the noise and bustle of the city, yet near to the attractions of the Languedoc region. This gite was perfect! St. Genies de Fontadit is a tiny village, but has everything necessary for a nice stay – bakery, small grocery, café, even a pizzeria. And best of all, within two minutes of getting into the car, you are out of town, and heading for the sights. We made day trips to Carcassonne, Portiragnes Beach, Queribus and Peyrepertuse castles, and Pont du Gard over in Provence.
The gite had everything we needed for our stay – a fully equipped kitchen, laundry facilities, and a terrace with a great view. It was a wonderful place to enjoy a bottle of wine with cheese, meats, and chocolate! Freddy met us in town, and gave us a quick tour before showing us the gite. He was very helpful, and gave us some great suggestions about buying food and wine.
We would highly recommend The Ramparts for any group (up to six people) who are looking for a relaxing place to stay in Languedoc.
