Booked this hotel online and paid in advance, but on check in, the person on the desk insisted that there had been no payment and wouldn't let us check in till we had paid, even though I showed him my email confirmation.

On checking my bank a few days later, I had indeed been charged twice. After initially having emails ignored when contacting HotelF1 via their website, I finally got a response from Accor. More than two weeks have now passed and even though I have sent copies of my bank statements showing two payments (along with two sets of bank fees), I have still not received a refund. Very poor customer service from the hotel itself and from the Accor Group and won't be using them again.

To make things worse, the room itself was dirty with stained walls and a strong smell of body odour. The power socket didn't work. Toilets and showers in desperate need of replacement. Noise from other guests throughout the night.

Cheap hotel. Clean rooms and free wifi. Breakfast i ordinary at a resonable price. Friendly staff, but like all other places in France, they don't speak english. There is absolutely nothing except TV and beds the rooms. Toilet and bath in the hallways.

We booked online for a quick overnight stay on a long drive from the UK to Switzerland. We made the reservation online for two double rooms, for myself, my husband and two young children and the appeal was firstly the price, and secondly the fact that you could cancel on the day of arrival, which was good for us in case our plans changed last minute.

When we arrived the first thing that hit me was the smell...it reminded me of when you used to be allowed to smoke in pubs and bars. I couldn't actually see anyone smoking, but the place stank of smoke. The second thing I noticed was the sign in reception that said animals were allowed to stay for a small fee, which I'm sure for pet owners is fantastic, but for someone who is not particularly keen on animals, I didn't really like the idea of sleeping in a room that animals had been allowed in! Not a matter of life and death I know, but not what I would expect when booking a 'hotel'!!!!!

The booking-in process was fairly straightforward despite our poor French and the receptionists poor English!!

The rooms were small, very basic and consisted of a double bed and a bunk over head, so were in fact triple rooms (same price for all rooms). There was a sink in the corner and a desk, TV, etc....to my horror...NO BATHROOM!!! Our own silly fault for not checking when we booked of course, but don't all 'hotels' have en-suite bathrooms??? (Maybe not, but I've never stayed in one that doesn't!). The rooms were obviously 'smoking' rooms as they carried the same smoke stench that I was hit with when I walked into the hotel entrance!

The communal toilets and shower rooms were just along the corridor - the toilet had no hand washing facilities, so I guess you were expected to go back to your room to wash your hands once you'd been to the loo - eeuww!!

It was shabby and grubby. Grime all round the light switches, skirting boards etc. The carpets were not very clean either.

I definitely wouldn't choose to stay here again, despite the fact that I showered before I left in the morning, I came away feeling dirty, and with all our clothes, coats, bags, etc smelling of smoke!

I do definitely agree that you get what you pay for, and this was very cheap. I wasn't expecting anything luxurious, but basic and clean would have been acceptable!

Everyone can cope with basic accommodation if it's clean and well kept. Unfortunately this place is run down and whilst bedding may look clean, just a cursory check of the mattress reveals all sorts of things that show the true level of cleanliness.

The building and facilities are stained, worn, split, patched and in dire need of renovation.

The room smelled really bad , shower had no hot water and there is no sink in the toilet. My credit card was charged double and now I am trying to get it back. dont stay here, book somewhere else or sleep in the car.
