“Good Vietnamese food”

The restaurant was quite busy for a Sunday night. It’s a bit out of the main center but it’s worth it. Food was better than the average Vietnamese restaurant in France.

Good quality fresh cooked meal with an exotic touch from the far east. Ou dinners and deserts were very pleasant. The use of coco nut shells to serve the rice is a nice touch. A waitress with a smile would have been a bonus. A waitress who knew sake wine was offered on the menu would also have been useful. The service was efficient, if a little dour.

Hint: if you're tired of eating foie gras in Sarlat then try Le Bambou instead! I came across this place by chance while driving into town and it was very close to our hotel so we decided to have dinner there one night. Place looks brand new. Wide menu choices. We had a set menu for 19 euros and it did not disappoint! In fact we liked it so much that we decided to come back for dinner the following night! Food is well presented and portions are just the right size. Service friendly. Spotlessly clean dining hall. I recommend reserving ahead of time as it gets busy - enjoy!

Good Vietnamese cuisine but difficult to communicate with owner/operators. We ordered one dessert with three spoons and got three desserts with three spoons! Nice alternative to the higher priced, supposedly better, restaurants in the medieval center of town. This restaurant is about 1000 meters outside the center but easily walkable to its location.

It was a rainy afternoon , we were cold, wet and wanted hot soup. In France, that means you must find an Asian restaurant. We stopped at the tourist office and they suggested Le Bambou. We had to walk about 15 minutes from the old village, but it was well worth it.We ordered the beef pho and the asperges chicken soups. Both were amazing! Very fresh and very hot! In addition we ordered some steamed crab dumplings and they also were also outstanding! If you get a chance to eat here, you will not be disappointed!
