Friendly staff, comfortable room and bed. Quiet and central location. Adverse comment would be that the shower is in the bath and not suitable for elderly people. Lovely breakfast. Bar was expensive. Front desk was very helpful .

Room tip: Separate shower

If you are using Sarlat as the base for touring the Dordogne, the Plaza Madeleine is a great choice as a place to stay. Very well located, close to restaurants, the old town, and shopping, this hotel offers comfort, convenience, and a terrific breakfast to start you on your way. There is an elevator, and the rooms are comfortable. While it is not cheap, it is well worth the price.

My bride and I stayed here for 7 night in September 2016. The location is perfect at the entrance to the "old town." The room is quiet and comfortable. The beds are wonderful. The staff is friendly and accommodating. My bride was ill one day and the staff was great in making her comfortable. The food is very good, especially the breakfast. Highly recommended. For U.S. travelers, learn some basic, polite French words. My French is poor but I always used it first. The Sarlat citizens appreciated the effort and were very helpful. Being polite and friendly always bridges a language barrier. Also, Google Translate on an iPhone translates printed words simply by aiming the camera at the words.

Room tip: Our room was on the second floor and faced the memorial park with a fountain.

Charming stylish hotel in the lovely old town and in easy walking for all the sights/ restaurants.
We stayed 2 nights, Friday and Saturday. There is absolutely no parking allowed on Saturdays due to the huge local market that takes over the town centre, so you would need to use the hotel's private car park which is about 200m away.
Our room overlooked the square and was very comfortable.
Staff all were helpful and friendly.
Lovely heated open air pool and terrace with jacuzzi, sauna and steam room..great place to relax.
No dinner in hotel but breakfasts were good.

Nice hotel with French flavor. Excellent location with short walk to old town, fun stores and many restaurants. Great bed. The front desk was helpful in planning our visit to the Cro Magnon Cave of Font De Gaume where you see the original paintings dated at 18,000 years old. You have to arrive very early at the site just to get a ticket for a cave tour that day so the hotel advice helped us successfully get tickets.
