“A perfect gem”

we stayed here for a week and had the most perfect time. The house is welcoming and comfortable and absolutely perfectly located. We could walk to excellent restaurants, the wonderful market and the many sights of lovely Sarlat. The area around Sarlat is fabulous and we had a number of great days out visiting villages, chateaux, and gardens.
I was a little nervous about booking via paypal and on line but the whole process went without a hitch. Xanthe was very helpful and responded to our many questions promptly. The security deposit was refunded within 24 hours of checking out. I genuinely wish we had spent 2 weeks there and recommend this house if you want to explore the Dordogne area or just want to bask in the relaxed environment of the south of France.

“Beautiful house, could not have wished for more”

Super house, excellent location with restaurants and shops just around the corner.
Well cared for and maintained cottage, obviously recently redecorated, new kitchen equipment. A large beautiful garden provides the cottage with excellent privacy, a real oasis in the town centre, with the bonus of a large parking area too. Great to have English TV and WIFI to keep in contact with family whilst travelling.

All in all, a very comfortable home with very friendly and helpful owners who made the whole booking process very easy.

“Wonderful cosy cottage”

This was by far the best rental home of our trip, it was very clean, well equipped and you could see it was well cared for.

The beds were comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. Really convenient for everything n the town, even the train station is only a 15 minute walk. We found lots to do and see in the area in March and the weather was warm and sunny, so all in all a very good time was spent in this lovely cottage and the owners could not have been more helpful. Thank you Xanthe and Hamish.

“Fantastic location in lovely town”

We were thrilled when we arrived as this was so much more than expected and better than the photographs led us to believe. Pretty period cottage that provided us we everything that we needed for a lovely and enjoyable stay. The location is ideal as the market is right on your doorstep and there is a authentic French Bistro around the corner which we would recommend.
Three comfortable bedrooms with three ensuite shower rooms, fully fitted kitchen with new appliances, English television which is brilliant in France, overall a very clean and well looked after house.
Lovely large garden with pool (not that we got to use it in March despite the lovely weather) and parking area.

Would recommend to anyone looking to stay in or around Sarlat as Xanthe is guest services personified!

“More than we expected!”
Reviewed 28 October 2013 for a stay in October 2013

When we arrived at the house, we were pleasantly suprised at how large and well equipted it was. It has three large bedrooms with private bathrooms. The industrial-sized water heater provided more than enough hot water for the four of us and the bathrooms were large and spaceous. We really appreciated its location just north of downtown Sarlat that allowed us to walk to the Saturday market and see all the sights in town. We used the kitchen regularly preparing the local foods. We enjoyed wine on the veranda that was perfect for this time of year and overlooked the pool which we did not try this time of year. The only complaint was the lack of Wi-Fi connection and the local Wi-Fi in the internet cafes is slow and spotty with making connections. We were within easy driving distance of the cave drawing sites and many beautiful castles. The food in the area is spectacular and the people helful and friendly. It is a bargain if you're travelling with friends and family.
