Vanessa was easy to contact and had very good English. She was there to greet us. Her husband would have picked us up from the station. The flat is a 30 min walk from the station but the little free bus leaves the station every half hour and will drop you off at the flat. It is a little white bus and you need the green C . We had to ask where the flat actually was as number is not visible on Chantzy street. you know it must face the sea from the photographs but you have to go behind the motor boat shop. There is parking and free bikes. We did not use the bikes but there are cycle paths everywhere and most of the area is flat. It is advertised as a studio and although small every available space has been utalised. and is well stocked with ant hardware item you might need. Tea coffee , water were left with other bits of food.
The flat is 5 minute walk from an area of shops which include a Casino supermarket. This one closes on Monday but nearby Lidls opens on a Monday. The local fish shop is amazing but was very busy and the choice was so vast that I did not buy anything from it. I think you would have to know your fish and how to buy it.
Arcachon is a town to rest and relax in and boat watch. The basin in front is a hive of activity and the balcony is a great pace to sit and watch.
The water in front is great for swimming in at high tide and Vanessa has beach towels there.
