Very nice resort-style place! Pool and hot tub are well kept, and very nice grounds with pond and great landscaping. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms are relatively spartan, but this makes you appreciate the great private patio. Just a few minutes drive from the main town of Porto-Vecchio. We'd definitely stay here again!

Excellent food, nice rooms, friendly service, lovely garden with a pool and so close to Porto Vecchio and Bonifacio. What else does one need to explore the South of Corse? Great value for money. We were first hesitating to book as it is "only" 2 stars, but it is a little hidden juwel in our view. Would come back any time.

We have stayed at San Giovanni a number of times during the last 20 years and will be returning again and again. We have stayed in several other hotels all over the island but in our opinion this is the best there is. Set in quiet surroundings within easy reach of Porto Vecchio itself, the accommodation is very comfortable with all the facilities you would expect from a 4 or 5 starred hotels albeit this is rated as only 2 stars. The massive grounds are well maintained and always look their best; they also benefit from a large outdoor heated swimming pool, a tennis court, a large car park and a well equipped children's play area. Breakfast is a feast in itself with a wide choice and the evening meal is always something to look forward to. It is a very well run family concern. and you will be warmly welcomed by the owners and their very helpful staff, all quite fluent in English. There are beautiful places to visit nearby including the Bavella mountain range and some of the best beaches in Southern Corsica. All in all highly recommended.

Room Tip: Opt for garden rooms.

Hotel San Giovanni was a real find. It was our first stop on a tour of Corsica and it was perfect. There are 30 rooms and it is set in lovely gardens. We had a standard room in the main building, though there are more secluded garden rooms with their own patios. Ours had a balcony which was okay but the design of the building meant we had a long concrete wall at that point which gave a feeling of being hemmed in somewhat. The room was on the small side, modern in design, very compact but spotless and certainly adequate for a short stay. The en suite had a great shower.
A highlight of our stay was the quality of the food, it was fabulous! After experiencing the first evening meal there was no temptation to venture elsewhere. The restaurant and outside covered dining area were full every evening. Breakfast was equally delicious. All the staff were very pleasant and polite. Another treat at the end of a busy day was the heated outdoor swimming pool, a good size with plenty of surrounding space and adequate number of sun loungers. Yet another big plus for this excellent hotel. We met another English couple who had been returning each year for the past 18 years! Enough said.
