“Fantastic home from home accommodation!”
Reviewed 25 October 2018 for a stay in October 2018

Gary the owner is a very pleasant helpful person with a beautiful home that has lots of high quality fixtures and fittings. It was fully equipped for a large family especially the kitchen cupboards.
The welcome bottle of fizz for the adults and milk for the kids was a nice touch and appreciated.
Being a local person Gary is on hand should you have any issues (which we didn't) however after a thorough walk through on your arrival everything is explained and a folder in the property explains all the machines and how to operate, well thought through for peace of mind.
Local area was great with lots of little beaches, coves and castles to explore. Great holiday can't wait to go back again.

“Ticked every box for a family holiday”
Reviewed 1 August 2018 for a stay in July 2018

Great location. So many attractions on your doorstep. Beaches, nature reserves, golf courses. The area is soaked in history.
Newburgh-On-Ythan and Ellon are on the doorstep with plenty to offer.
Something for all the family.
Gary was very welcoming and a mind of useful information.
The property is of a high standard and well laid out and clean.

“Family get-together and a son's graduation at University of Aberdeen”
Reviewed 9 July 2018 for a stay in June 2018

The location is ideal. Restful, rolling countryside with fabulous sunsets (and in June, sunrise soon after!) Close to the coast with quiet roads that are ideal for cycling to Collieston harbour or Old Slains Castle. An hour's drive takes you to Fraserburgh, home of the Scottish lighthouse museum. Well worth a visit if only for the views and the coffee shop.
Aberdeen is only a half hour's drive. A compact but vibrant city. we saw dolphins at the harbour there. At Nuburgh there is a fabulous beach occupied by hundreds of seals. The backdrop to that is the Forvie nature reserve which makes for fabulous walks and a hidden sandy beach on which to take a break. The house is a much enlarged and renovated crofter's cottage set in a well tended garden with decking plenty of seating and large bbq. The accommodation is first class, comfortable, clean and has every amenity you could ask for including a very well kitted out kitchen. if / when we go back to that part of Scotland, we would love to return to Slains Holiday Home.
