We just returned from an 8 day stay at the Chateau. There were 13 of us consisting of 10 adults and 3 children ages 2, 7 and 10 all of whom had a wonderful time. The place is spectacular and is just as described. If anything the pictures do not do it justice. It is a real castle, filled with family antiques and memorabilia. What is more, given the size and age of the Chateau it is very clean and in excellent repair. The grounds are spacious, there is a beautiful pool and there are a ton of things to do within a short drive. We too hired Yolande as a cook and enjoyed regional specialties for dinner every night. The owners, Martine and Jean Marie, who live in an apartment within the Chateau, were very helpful and gracious hosts as was their dog, Achille. If you are looking for a special place for a family trip (as we were) or a trip with a group of friends and you are interested in a part of France that is not overrun with tourists but which is full of interesting sights and experiences you can't go wrong with Chateau d'Agel.
