This place is among the best in Southern Norway. The staff was very friendly and positive. part of the hotel is furnished in Scandinavian design. The hotel is located at the beach. There is a indoor wellness and swmming pool next door and some outdoor oportunities. And the food was just authentic Nordic and delicous.

Excellent service. We got upgraded when the room wasn't what we had ordered. Free entry to Sørlandsbadet (swimming pool/water park) if you ask at the front desk. Several short walks in the nature available just outside and maps available in the reception area. The beach is just outside.

Room Tip: Some rooms have seaview, ask for them.

This is the second time staying the Rosfjord Strandhotell. Very nice front desk staff. Even though it was the wintertime I was surprised by the amount of people staying at the hotel. I had dinner the resturant and was in the mood for a hamburger and what a great hamburger it was. A homemade bun with homemade chips & catsup. The room was a normal Norwegian room since I was staying on the non-fjord view side. Nice staff, resturant & hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms with the view of the fjord are the only way to go.

Very nice hotel near to Lyngdal. It was great to arrive and escape the heat wave we experienced in Oslo. The standard room was quite nice with a beautiful view of the fjord. There are some nearby walks from the beach to take as well. We had a lovely dinner at the hotel. Even though our server couldn't quite tell me what the fish was that I ordered (and I don't speak Norwegian), it was still delicious! Breakfast the next morning was very nice. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Our side of the hotel had a lovely balkony with seaview. We had excellent weather so we could sit there almost every night. The room was large and so was the bathroom, but we missed a bathtub since we were travelling with a 1 year old.
Bedlinens weren't changed at regular base, had to ask for it. Some dirt under the bed, although it was easy reachable. We stayed 13 nights, so at least once could they have done it.
Reservation costs of a babybed is overpriced (200NOK/night) at our opinion, but it seems to be that way in Norway. In the rest of Europe it's free.
Excellent breakfast buffet! Older reviews are complaining about this, but is seems they have done a lot of effort. The friendly and attentive staff is another thing that we would like to mention. Our baby boy was even welcomed by kisses every morning and loved the haircut of one of the staff so much that this person became his favorite staff member. Nice atmosphere in the bar with live music some evenings.
We had diner in the restaurant three times with three different dishes and they were excellent. An extra when travelling with kids is the free acces to Sørlandsbadet! We went there every other day. Pay attention: they advice naked showering; which was akward for us, but that's the Norwegian way!
The beach is very close and the water is shallow. Nice pier with lots of crabs and other seafood to catch with a net. Walking distance to major shops, restaurants and city center (app. 3km).
