The restaurant is situated in a beautiful setting against the lake and with a relaxing patio area ideal for your appetitive. The menu might be limited to 3 set menus in the evening. But each contain a series of gastronomic gems. While this will not be a low cost evening out but it will provide a great deal of pleasure as you enjoy your 10 course meal. Wine can be matched to your courses if you wish.
You can select a 5 course version of these menus. Which may be useful if you find the thought of 10 courses daunting.
If you want a special evening out this is the place to go.
The staff were excellent and couldn’t have been more helpful or attentive.

We went for a wedding at lunch. Beautiful sorroundings with the pristine waters of the lake and a little village view.
The food was very good. Appetizers with a good choice of cheese and ham delicacies and fried vegetables.
Risotto done in an enourmous pan was delicious and the fassona meat incredible.
Also the millefoglie dessert with raspberries was excellent.
Great food in a wonderful secluded location.

We went in with high expectations as this is rated as the best restaurant in the region. We were met by a very nice staff who immediately took our order and even offered to open any wine for us even if it was just to have a glass each - something that I've rarely seen.

We chose the tasting menu, one regular and one vegetarian. The amuse-bouche that started us off were downright disappointing: quite doughy and bland to the taste. The bread that followed however was delicious: a smokey taste that was quite unique. Points for that.

The rest of the menu would have been quite forgettable if it hadn't been for the fact that it simply wasn't on the level that you would expect from a 2 star restaurant. Some dishes were quite creative (the snail, that was quite special) but many were not only rather un-inventive but not very well cooked either. Both the pasta and the rice were under-cooked (completely white in the middle).

To be fair, I think this could pass as a one star but 2 is certainly a big stretch. While the price we payed was in line with other 2 stars, the food was very clearly below that level, as such the value is pretty terrible, especially if you're accustomed to regularly eat in places like this.

One last point that really, really irked me is the dress code: we were surrounded by tourists wearing jorts and sneakers/sandals. It's just unbecoming of an establishment in that price class and a bit of a red flag for me that they wouldn't turn people like this away.

To end on a positive note: the staff really is incredibly attentive and kind and the view is breathtaking, if that had been the only criteria it would have been a 5/5.
