Great hotel and excellent food

Review of Hotel Miravalle
5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 5 Mar 2024via mobile
We stayed at Hotel Miravalle in Feb 2024 and had the best week. The rooms were spotlessly clean and very comfortable, on the small side but we had fabulous Mountain views.

The breakfast buffet was plentiful and we loved the evening meals which consisted of a starter buffet, pasta course (choice of 2) and main course (choice of 2). The food was excellent quality and very fresh. The lunch vouchers were great, we only tried Campanna Kind by Spotinia lift but were very impressed with the portion of pasta, though the restaurant gets very busy at lunchtime.

The shuttle bus to and from Sportinia lift was ideal and meant we didn’t have to walk anywhere with our skis. The hotel and bar/restaurant staff were very friendly and happy to help. The bar prices were reasonable and the happy hour cocktails were great. Overall we would happily stay again.

The hotel overall was lovely and the staff very friendly and helpful. Food was plentiful buffet breakfast and starters excellent however on occasions the pasta dishes were lukewarm and we had veal 3 nights in a row. The rooms were recently renovated and comfortable but we were disappointed the small spa advertised was closed. The shuttle minibus to and from the slopes very efficient.

The hotel was very good, staff pleasant, the food was very nice, you only had a choice of 2 for starter and main but we loved the food. The room was very nice. Breakfast was plenty of choice. The fact you get a voucher for a lunch on the slopes and a choice of 2 locations was great, Capa Kind was the best for us, pasta or soup with sweet and water. We did not use the shuttle bus but left our skis at the bottom of the Clotes lift and enjoyed the walk up the hill in the morning.

Definitely not a 3* hotel. We stayed here for a week skiing and it was hard to fault. The staff were very helpful. The food was fantastic. Rooms were extremely clean. It was great having a shuttle bus to the lifts and not having to walk each day. The van did break on one of our days, but they found another vehicle to take us. All in all it was a wonderful hotel to stay in and we will definitely be back.

Room tip: Try to either get on the first bus up the chair lift or wait until after the rush.

The Hotel has recently been renovated and the rooms and restaurant are modern, stylish and comfortable. Our room had a fabulous mountain view. The food in the restaurant was excellent and the chef and team clearly take immense pride in what they do.

The staff were so lovely and looked after us so well. In particular the maitre d who also clearly took great pride in providing excellent service.

Well done to Hotel Merivale and their team we had a great stay and will be coming back for sure.

An incredible week in Sauze d’Oulx!

We stayed at the Miravalle from 31st-7th Jan 2024, firstly the hotel put on a Gala dinner on NYE which was a really nice start to the holiday. The food was very nice with an Italian touch. Overall we had a great experience with this hotel and would recommend, for a 3 star hotel we felt we had made a good choice.

Reception: The two people we had over the week spoke very good English and were very friendly and helpful with any questions we had, the young man behind reception had a really good conversation with me about the resort and ski runs. They also phoned and booked us in at the Sauze spa.

Restaurant: The staff were very friendly, especially “Manuel” who ran the bar, he made some really funky cocktails upon our request, the food was very Italian but we enjoyed this, although the portions were fairly small it didn’t matter because you had 4 courses each night. The starter was buffet and then the other 3 courses were all table service which we really liked.
The dining room was cosy and intimate with great views of the mountains, it was nice because all the guests mingled and became friendly and chatty about their days on the slopes.

Rooms: Fairly spacious rooms with balconies, all recently refurbished so the bathrooms were smart and the beds comfortable. The decor had a rustic feel but also modern. The only feedback we had would be more storage for ski gear but we made do.

Shuttle bus: This was an absolutely amazing perk as the walk up the Clotes lift was a fair trek. The Bus operated from 8:30-11am and then again 2:30-5pm and dropped and picked up directly from the Sportinia lift.

Full board: This meant we were given lunch vouchers to take on the mountain, it was simple pasta or a sandwich but this saved us so much money. We also found a little “cheat” with the sandwich place, if you ordered alcohol they are only meant to give you water but we got the alcohol for nothing.

Other reviews have mentioned heating problems but we experienced none of this, and to complain there is no Toilet roll holder, I mean come on, get a life! For a 3 star hotel we were very very impressed with the service we received.
