Historic, updated, great service

Review of Hotel Posta

Loved staying in a 700 year old hotel that’s been updated well. A/C and bathroom are good. Same Family has owned for 100 years! Plan ahead for tours of hotel by manager owner, tour of balsamic vinegar production, and Parma Reggio cheese production. Fascinating! Very reasonably priced! Location central to shops and fine restaurants. Book way in advance. Always full!

We thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay here. Staff at reception are very helpful with any enquires. The hotel is centrally located our room was spacious and immaculate, super comfortable bed ensured a good nights rest. The bathroom had a walk in shower again a good size, it was the super soft white towels that were lovely, often towels are not so white or soft these were superb.
Breakfast was buffet all cold items including cheeses and meats, cereals and juices, bread and pastries. Have to say it was a fairly average breakfast.
The hotel has a 500 year history and is family run, take time to find out more about its history whilst staying there.
If travelling from Reggio Emilia AV train station it’s about 15 minute taxi ride, our taxi was 11 Euros which was good.
Near the hotel in fact over the road there are clothing stores, and plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby.
We really enjoyed our stay, and would recommend booking this hotel if you are planning a visit to Reggio Emilia.

I think this is our 10th stay in this friendly hotel. The room was very comfortable and there was a wonderful selection for the buffet breakfast. I would recommend asking for a room on the first floor as that’s where breakfast is served and it’s very accessible by stairs. The lift can be a bit slow.

This is a well maintained historic hotel with kind, gracious staff. Our room was comfortable. The breakfast is large, varied, and quite good.

We went to their other location for the balsamic tour and dinner and that was a highlight. We were glad we stayed at this hotel.

My wife and I stayed for 6 nights in May and had a wonderful time. Stefania, Massimiliano, and Giuliani were all very helpful before and during our visit. We loved the breakfast each morning! The location is great, in the middle of the historic district of Reggio Emilia with stores and restaurants just outside the front door. Thank you Hotel Posta for a great visit!

Room tip: Book directly with the hotel and receive a bottle of Lambrusco wine.

Enjoyed 4 night stay beautiful quaint hotel. Used town for its access to trains and new high speed rail to visit Florence, Bologna etc.
My room was on 1st floor on noisy side of street. Unfortunate for me both Friday and Saturday night there were activities in the piazza next to hotel with loud music.
The breakfast offered variety of typical European meats, cheeses etc.
Booked directly with hotel and staff was very responsive with email communication.

Thank you for your review! we hope to welcome you another time and offer you a special accomodation on the second or third floor less noisy. double glasses on windows can't always offer the top of the quiet.
happy to know that you have enjoyed the breakfast and the service offered by the staff.
