We booked a table at this 12th century hotel high above the amalfi coast in Rovello overlooking Salerno! The food was magnificent the staff were very agreeable and the service immaculate. The dining experience was the best we encountered in our week on the coast. Prices are not out of this world. Meal plus dessert and very nice wine 120 euros for two. The view alone is worth that price.

Beautiful, historic property with incredible views, chic décor, friendly service, and a peaceful atmosphere. Overall a lovely place to stay; we requested the 'historic' rooms vs. the hotel's more modern rooms because we wanted the charm and character associated with these types of rooms. We were unexpectedly upgraded to a junior suite with a sitting room and incredible views.

While the room itself was beautiful to look at, the air conditioning strength could be improved -- although I'm sure this is rarely an issue and we stayed during the absolute hottest days of the year. The bathroom was a bit dated and shower a bit tight, but otherwise it was a beautiful room with a lot of nice details.

The hotel staff were very pleasant and nice, but service could occasionally be a bit faster and more attentive. One night, it took a while to get a drink, while on another night, we were given a beautiful complimentary plate of hors d'oeuvres along with our cocktails.

Parking is a bit pricey at 25 euro per night and should probably just be included in the rate. The breakfast food was of good/average quality, with gorgeous views overlooking the mountains and sea.

This hotel is in a beautiful location within Ravello and is right next door to the Palazzo Avino. It's quiet and peaceful and easy to access the rest of this charming town.

While the Palumbo doesn't have a pool, you can get vouchers at the front desk to use the neighboring hotel's pool, which is nice and has great views.

Overall, I think this place is great value relative to something like the Belmond, Avino, or Cimbrone, which all have the same views. Perhaps their rooms are slightly more up-to-date, and I can't speak for the modern rooms at Palumbo, which were not to my taste based on photos, but the historic side of this hotel is very charming.

Room tip: If you like charm, ask for historic rooms with a view.

Our stay at Hotel Palumbo was perfect from the beginning. The staff was very helpful from beginning to end and we had a beautiful view from our terrace. We ate at the hotel restaurant which was an experience not to be missed. Hotel is very conveniently located to the city square and to the bus to Amalfi also. Will definitely be coming back!

Our son booked a special meal for us to celebrate 30 years of marriage and what a location! Balcony looking down on the beautiful Amalfi coast made for a wonderful setting and the food matched the surroundings. Great service, excellent food and a dream location made for a perfect night.
