“Beautiful majestic Amalfi coast”
Reviewed 27 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

We stayed at Villa Gisella A in Praiano on the Amalfi coast for 1 week. I can say without hesitation it was the most beautifully stunning location I have ever stayed in. Situated on a height above the famous coast road.....95 steps to be exact.....the reward for climbing these steps is well worth it. High mountainous cliffs at your back, the rugged splendour of the coastline stretching out in front, looking down at beautiful Positano and on out to the island of Capri. Looking down below at the super yachts moored in the bay.
On the terraced climb up to the villa is a fruit and veg garden at every turn.....lemons, figs, tomatoes.
The villa is spacious, very clean, and had everything we needed...and more! We were greeted with a bowl of fresh figs in the fridge, a bowl of supersized lemons, and a bowl of fresh eggs. There was a travel adapter plug, plug in mosquito repellent, dishwasher tablets, insect sprays and lots of other items we thought we would have to buy. There was even a pair of binoculars for viewing the coastline in more detail!
During the day we explored up and down the coastline...off to Pompeii and Vesuvius, Capri, Sorrento etc but I was never more happier than sitting out on our terrace with a glass of wine or beer in the evening watching the sunset over the Amalfi coast. On one of those evenings we had a surprise gift from the owner (who lives in the villa above). She lowered a basket down to us with a homemade cake, a bottle of homemade limoncello, and a bottle of homemade blueberry liquer. The cake was delicious, the limoncello was rocket fuel! :-D
Touches like that help to make your stay even more memorable.
Within a few minutes walk you have a shop with all the essentials, a pharmacy, some restaurants, cafes, souvenir store, tourist office etc. Also, there are plenty of bus stops along the road to help you explore the coast in both directions (and the bus journey is an adventure in itself).
If you are coming to the Amalfi coast you must be prepared for lots of steps. The climb up to the villa was a bit of a workout but nothing that would put me off recommending this location to anyone other than people with restricted mobility......my 67 year old mother in law managed the climb twice a day every day!
I would have no hesitation in coming back here....indeed, it is on my to-do list.

“peaceful place”
Reviewed 26 April 2016 for a stay in April 2015

The apartment is perfectly clean, with everything you need to cook meals and enjoy your holiday. It has two separate bedrooms - very convenient for 2 couples or a group of friends.
Everything was perfectly clean. The place is lovely with a wonderful terrace with sunbeds, table and chairs to sit, relax and enjoy your meals and beatiful seaview.
Praiano is less touristy than Amalfi or Positano - thanks to that you can enjoy the local feeling.
You need to climb few steps to get to the apartment.
Hosts are very nice and accomodating, they are just above when you need any support.
