It's the view that sells this delightful apartment the owner living above.
This was the final destination in a 4 city tour , this being the relaxing part.
As we had been touring we arrived by car, at this time of year , not the best idea.
There is no private parking , so I went up and down the road a few times (there are very few places to turn), so after 20 mins I dropped my wife off at the bottom and spent the next 30 mins getting a parking spot. It gets better after the weekend and managed to move it much closer .The road to Amalfi was closed due to local fires,so the car stayed for the week.
We were met by a friend or husband, who took both heavy pieces of luggage by himself, I was still parking.
It is 4 long flights of steps 250-270 , which to begin with is exhausting , however, you eventually get used to it and is a good work out !
The apartment itself is lovely ,the fantastic veranda, which we loved for the view and ability to relax on after a long day out.
There is a nice kitchen, good size lounge , comfortable bedroom and bed - we slept very well( the exhaustion of the steps!.
The bathroom is fine, though not the greatest shower, to all the others we had in Italy or at home.
Connie is an extremely friendly host and once I had arrived and settled in , she offered us a lovely simple pasta meal , salad and coffee, a delightful welcome.
As it's a hike up , and there are no easy supermarkets to get to , she offered to ring over to her grocery store-cheaper than those in town. , since this included a 6 pk of 2 litre water plus other heavy items ,this was great.
As it cools at night the view becomes even more delightful looking across at Positano , and we thoroughly enjoyed going exploring and having lunch out and going to the local deli's and bringing dinner back with us and some great local wines.
All these restaurants sell themselves on the view , we had it already.
Positano itself is lovely ,12 -15mins walk or 5 min bus ride if you time it right.
There are buses to Amalfi, Sorrento ,Priano at very reasonable prices and there is the lovely option of using the boats to Amalfi,Salerno, Sorrento , Naples and Capri ,
We did it a couple of times, nicest way to travel, as well as using the bus.
The only other issue we had was the local one of ants, which at this time of year were in abundance and on more than one occasion got into the kitchen and lounge.
Connie , however, was extremely helpful with this and between us became ant busters - it comes with the territory I'm afraid.
We had a most relaxing time visiting the area and would definitely return ,perhaps in a quieter time of the year next time.
I haven't added any photos, as these are as good as any I would add.
