“It doesn't get any better...”

In Positano, you have a lot of lodging choices. I can also honestly say as someone that has travelled world-wide, that it doesn't get any better than Villa Cocles.

The property, amenities, location and view are all first rate. You also get Marina (owner) who from the first email was communicative, helpful, patient and professional. It was simple to book, reserve and pay, and our many questions over the three months leading up to our stay were answered promptly, fully and professionally. She knows anyone who is anyone in Positano and beyond and can basically answer any question, point you in any direction and hook you up with any activity you might ask about or imagine. She will also cook for you if you request, and while we didn't take advantage of this while we were there, others have commented on the high quality of her cooking.

The pictures do not do the villa justice - it's much better than that. In addition, you get a fully stocked kitchen that was put together by a cooking professional, so there isn't anything lacking there. The neighborhood is perfect: 50 yards from the SITA bus to all Amalfi Coast locations and also the Positano "Interno" bus to take you down the hill (and up at the end of in-town excursions!) and the same bus to Praiano and to Nocelle. It's simply the best location: above it all, and with a view to match.

As far as "negatives," there really aren't any. Couple of facts: some people have complained about ants or whatever, but you are up high on the Amalfi coast living in the middle of a garden: if you leave food out you will get ants - the garden comes right up to the deck and the property is surrounded by trees, plants and beautiful gardens - short version: don't leave food out and you won't get ants (this principle works world-wide). Also, unless you are going to learn about the bus, you are going to be walking up and down a lot of stairs to get to restaurants, the beach, etc., so learning about the bus (which is easy) is something you need to do. Finally, if you have to have a car, please note that it's virtually impossible to park anywhere in Positano, but Marina can help you here - she has a deal with a nearby lot for a daily rate that is less than most if not all Positano garages with in and out privileges (and they will even deliver the car to the front door of the villa if you need it) - but be prepared to pay (close to) NYC parking rates.

Don't know what else to say is that out 17 day trip to Italy was excellent from front to back, and Villa Cocles (last 6 days) was the highlight of our trip. The next time we are in Positano, we wouldn't even look at anywhere else to stay - it's that good.

“Amazing luxurious apartment, stunning oceanview, garden terrace, talented and friendly chef/landlord, the best!”

My wife, 3 children (18, 14, 8) and I stayed on the first 6 days of our once in a lifetime family trip to Italy, we could not have made a better choice. The modern and elegantly renovated and updated apartment in an 15th century former convent boasted 14 foot vaulted ceilings, beautiful antiques and paintings, 10 foot arched glass doorways opening onto a tiled garden terrace surrounded by trees and flowers overlooking Positano and the beautiful blue Mediterranean. The professional modern kitchen that opened onto the terrace as well had wrap around windows looking over the same spectacular view. I felt like I was in a movie and kept on having to remind myself that it was real. We arranged to have the talented, gracious and lovely Marina cook us dinner on our first night after our long day travelling from the USA, smart choice. She tailored a local lemon themed menu for our diverse tastes and preferences that was the best food we had on our entire 26 day trip. (We could not resist having her do a repeat performance the night before we left) The rest of our trip (Rome, Florence, Venice, and Como) was amazing, but we often found ourselves wishing we were still in Marina's lovely apartment Villa Cocles in Positano. I could have happily spent the entire vacation there. Fresh vegetable, fruits, meat, cheese and a wonderful fish market were conveniently steps away for cooking our own meals, and Marina was very helpful to quickly arrange bookings for us of drivers, rides, and any excursions as well as restaurant recommendations (none of the food we ate out matched the warmth and deliciousness of her preparations however). We look forward to returning, I hesitate letting anyone else know of this gem, I want to keep it for myself. Words cannot express the delight of sitting on the terrace there, surrounded by the flowers and trees, drinking coffee and gazing out over the beautiful sea.

“1 Month in Paradise”

We had an amazing 1 month stay in Villa Cocles. The Villa is very well set up and has a well equipped kitchen and a great terrace for meals over looking the northern part of Positano with views out to the Mediterranean Sea

Marina (owner) was great - we spoke with Marina several times before arriving - she was very helpful with ideas on where to go, places to eat and introduced us to local shop owners (mini market, butcher and seafood)

We had our adult children visited for 1 week, so having the other bedroom and 2nd bathroom was great

While the Villa is perched high up in Positano, there are plenty of amenities close by, including, mini markets, fruit and veg butcher and seafood shops, ATM and Bar Internationale and a number of great well priced restaurants

The main Positano Beach or Fornillo Beach are about 10-15 min walk through the lane ways. Or there is the internal Positano bus which stops just up the road from the Villa at Bar Internationale (which is the easy way to get back from the beach) and other bus services for the Amalfi Coast (to Sorrento or Amalfi) and inland towns also leave from Bar Internationale

After staying at Villa Cocles and in the Chiesa Nuova area for a month we felt like we were becoming locals, the people are so friendly. We became very good friends with Marina and we will stay in contact with her

This was our last stop on our 3 month tour of Italy and was a great place to finish our trip - we would recommend this Villa

Thanks Marina

This villa was more than we could have wished for. It's location was perfect, the view was amazing, Marina (the owner) was wonderful and it contained everything we needed. The terrace was the most special place for my mother and I, and on a few days was so perfect we did not feel the need to leave it all. It was very hard to leave and hopefully we get the chance to return.

With stunning sea and town views from the terrace, a fantastic kitchen, and lots of light and space inside, Villa Cocles was very hard to leave. Marina is a fantastic hostess. She is really prompt to reply to emails before your stay, and is nearby to offer all sorts of help during your stay. Our most stress free holiday rental ever.
