Checked Into a Junior Suite at Le Sirenuse with the wife after visiting London for the Olympics. -OMG have these guys got it all together or what!
Staff front of house culture in this wonderfull establishment is at a very high benchmark. - Essentially, we are talking about a "Crack" outfit here, who manifest and deliver an emotional reward to guests who stay here. They deliver a polished, high end, premium experience that just makes you want to smile.
The staff are all immaculately groomed and ooze sophistication and charm. They are friendly and engaging and they quickly learn your name and don't forget it for the duration of your stay. - During which time, they greet you by name each time they make contact with you.
Our suite was lovely, with a beautiful large balcony overlooking the pool below as well as Positano and the ocean. The balcony had two sun lounges as well as a table with two chairs if we wished to dine there.
The bathroom was well appointed with two vanity basins and a large "Whirlpool" spa bath as well as seperate shower. - A bidet is also a standard feature.
Food in this hotel left my taste buds wanting to defect and detatch from my mouth and attach themselves permanently to the hotel. - I had to drag them as well as ourselves, kicking and screaming from the hotel on our date of departure.
Wonderful home made pasta's filled with fresh clams and muscles. Fresh grilled fish and crustaceans caught that morning for lunch and afternoon for dinner from the sea. Tomatoes, that make you want to cry with joy, when they first make contact with your taste buds and in the Oyster bar, Oysters with shells covered in live fresh seaweed as if they were whisked from the ocean floor that very moment. - The food here is a big plus as well as a definite advantage of staying here. We ate at several fine dining restaurants in Positano, all of whom struggled to compete with the gastronomical pleasures served at Le Sirenuse.
It's one of those 5 star hotels where you never have to be looking over your shoulder for a waiter or need to ask for anything. Staff sense when you are running low on anything and are there by your side in good time to provide it. The service is fast, efficient and seamless.
On arrival at breakfast, you will be met and seated immediately. Your order will be taken instantly and arrive as ordered an instant later. - Meanwhile as you sip your morning coffee, you look out over an Al Fresco balcony to the sea and the town of Positano below.
The Al Fresco Oyster bar is a hip place to be to kick off the evening. A DJ has tunes pumping that set a sophisticated and seductive mood, making it difficult to leave once settled.
You can sit here and watch the late afternoon turn into night and the thousands of lights that dot the houses and hotels on the hillside come to life as the sun sets slowly in a Purple summer haze over the ocean in the distance. A warm summer ocean breeze blows gently over your skin whilst you take it all in. Meanwhile your host offers you some nibbles from the bar. - We went with a crustacean platter which had grilled Scampi, Grilled Lobster, Grilled prawns and Grilled Octopus that was to die for. We stopped in for one drink, but five hours later it was obvious this was not realistic and that further resistance was futile.
When you retire in the evenings, shortly after you enter your suite your chamber maid follows you to ensure you are happy with the turn down and to see if there is anything else you require for the evening ( nice touch, but you can avoid this if you want by hitting the do not bug us button!)
We booked for three nights so included in our package was a two hour trip in the hotels Riva luxury motorboat. This immaculate machine is made from Mahogony. It is a fully refurbished 1970' s Luxury boat and it's definately worth doing. You would need several hundred thousand Euro to buy one of these boats brand new today so we are not talking about a rubber dinghy or fibreglass recreational boat, it's the real luxury deal!
We departed at 4.30PM for our two hour trip which took us along the breathtaking coastline towards Amalfi. We were lucky enough to be in the boat by ourselves ( can be a shared experience with two other guests if they book at the same time) and Antonio our driver stopped in a place of our liking so we could have a swim, after which he served us freshly sliced peaches and Champagne which was all part of the experience. The boat has a fresh water shower hose so you can wash the salt water off after the swim and it has a huge King size day bed in the aft area so you can lie down with your wife and watch the world go by as you cruise along.
The smile my wife couldn't wipe off her face for several hours after the experience said it all. - But once again, it was the friendly and engaging nature of Antonio our boat driver that made us feel special. - Big winner this experience!
In summary, just couldn't fault this place at all. It is also located in Positano so everything is located around the hotel. - Would have to be one of the most romantic hotels the wife and I have stayed in as well as being off the charts in terms of the feel good experience from the front of house staff.
Sure it isn't cheap, but money is only worth the pleasure it brings you. - Do yourself a big favour and stay here if you want an experience that you take take away with you and keep forever. - I think my wife has fallen in love with me all over again!
