“Gorgeous views, awesome host, look out for bugs”
Reviewed 20 September 2016 for a stay in September 2016

Loved, loved, loved the view. Staying here was absolutely enchanting. The host, Connie, is wonderful. Seriously one of the kindest people on earth. She was so thoughtful and answered questions, etc. I asked ahead of time where I could get groceries and she said just tell me what you want and it will be in your fridge! So easy. So that's what I did, and then just paid in cash when I got there. The place was very clean, and the view is worth every stair in the climb to get there. However, I got eaten alive - day, night, crazy. Would stay there again at a different time of year. I had bug repellant with me, but it wasn't enough. Also, if you leave any food out, or residue on a pan or plate, even for a few minutes, Ants come at you in swarms. Be clean and enjoy the amazing view and hostess! Lovely place.

“extraordinary views and location”
Reviewed 24 September 2015 for a stay in August 2015

A lovely house in a truly exceptional location with the most amazing views.
Positives - great and efficient owner Eliana, basic inside but all the usual facilities (apart from probably a dishwasher which would have been nice). Previous reviewers cited difficulties with Wi-Fi, electricity etc but all that has clearly been resolved now because we didn't experience any problems. Good value for money too as this is an expensive part of Italy. This region of Italy is fantastic though, for both natural beauty and for things to do. We visited Poistano, Praiano, Sorrento, Pompeii, Vesuvius and Capri and we only stayed a week. There is a flight of steps leading to a private beach which is around 50 yards away. There are 500+ steps so not for everyone but fine for us. You need to pay for the loungers (loungers everywhere are very expensive in this part of Italy) but you can take your own kit if you want to. There is an amazing restaurant on the beach called D'Adolfo's - you need to book but do check it out you just have to persevere to get through. There is also another lovely restaurant just along the coast road called Leone's - we walked there but then darkness fell and I was too scared to walk back so they gave us a lift which was so brilliant of them.
Negatives - the house is located just off the Amalfi coast road. We rented a car at Naples airport and then didn't use it again until we had to drive back as we found the road too alarming - think hairpin bends, mopeds, people parked erratically causing people to drive on the wrong side of the road etc etc - I'm too anxious for all that! Also the road doesn't have pavements so although a line is drawn that you are meant to walk behind, again it felt too much like you were taking your life in your hands to walk for any length of time along that road. Consequently, we got buses everywhere (you have to buy bus tickets in advance from stores in the towns note) and they aren't massively reliable so there was a fair bit of waiting around at the very near bus stop! Note that some of the bannisters are quite far apart and the property is at height so possibly not for those with small children but for older ones this is great as so much to do.

We had a lovely holiday here!

“The most beautiful view ever!”

We stayed during the heatwave with temperatures soaring. Eliana couldn't have been nicer especially when after we'd just arrived and we're been shown around, my husband dropped our rental car key over the balcony into sheer forest below! Thankfully retrieved after searching by a very amenable neighbour. You do need to be in the full of your health to manage the walk down or should I say up the driveway, we left the car parked on the road, as it wasn't worth trying the driveway. But it is so worth it for the view from the terrace! From the terrace metal steps lead down to a smaller balcony where the entrance to the apartment is, perfect for morning coffee or evening glass of wine while ogling the mega yachts that moor below. The steps to Laurito beach are about 50 metres up the road, then 515 steps down, again you need your faculties about you for the climb back up, could only face a trip down and up once a day.
The apartment is basic enough but fantastic to have air conditioning in the main bedroom and kitchen/dining area, with a fan for the twin room. It has exert thing you need for a comfortable stay. But beware of ants and mosquitoes, not sure if it was the trees, but we all got bitten, so bring your insect repellent and citronella candles!
You do need a car and have to drive everywhere unless you avail of the local bus service. Parking is not easy anywhere and expensive, in order to go to the local shop, my husband would drop me, go turn around wherever he could find somewhere and come pick me up when I was finished!

Everything was perfect at il nido del, the house is big and well equipped, the host (eliana) is super friendly, the views are out of this world, and the location is convenient
