My husband and I recently stayed at Holiday House Gilda for two weeks during our vacation in Positano. Like everyone else who leaves a review of Holiday House, we can't say enough about how special Rosa, Gilda and Guiseppe made our stay. Each morning we would be greeted at breakfast by smiles and warm greetings of Buon Giorno and a delicious assortment of breads, yogurt and fruit, and if you had a request for eggs, as my husband always did, Gilda would cook them to your liking. While we leisurely enjoyed our breakfast and the lovely view from our table, we might be entertained by a sweet kitty cat who came to visit, or perhaps Miguel, their friendly and adorable little dog would make an appearance.
The apartment we rented for our stay was perfect for us. We had a small kitchen with table and chairs, a stove and mini fridge which was all we needed, and the living room/bedroom was more than adequate for our needs and best part - opened up onto our own private terrace over looking the bay of Positano. To be greeted each day by the beautiful sight of the ever changing colors of the water, the pretty pastel colored houses on the hills of Positano and the Le Galli Islands in the distance is something we shall never forget, it always brought a smile to our faces. In the afternoon we would sit out on our terrace enjoying our view and a drink and we could hear the sounds of laughter and conversation (in Italian so we didn't understand) coming from the house. Sometimes, while taking a walk around the garden area, you might run into Guiseppe planting potatoes in his garden. Holiday House made us feel we were part of a family, not just tourists at an impersonal hotel.
Getting around from Holiday House is easy, the bus into the center of town stops just a short distance up the road, as does the bus to Amalfi. If you feel like walking into town, it only takes about 20 minutes.
We have nothing but the highest praise for Rosa, the manager of Holiday House Gilda. She speaks excellent English, she responded to all our requests, answered all our questions, never appeared impatient, and to top it all off, she has a great sense of humor. She's the best!
We would love to go back to beautiful and lively Positano, but only if we could stay once again at Holiday House Gilda with Rosa, Gilda and Guiseppe.

I am almost reluctant to review as I want to keep this location a secret. Our stay in Positano was over the top. The location of our apartment was idyllic...away from the hustle and bustle of Positano but with easy access to it along with access to neighboring Amalfi Coast towns. Rosa was exceptional in giving advice and arranging transportation to restaurants that provided a free shuttle which is necessary if you are unfamiliar with the area. Breakfasts are provided at a small fee if desired. The view here is amazing. I spent many hours after sightseeing on the veranda with a glass of wine and a great read. Thank you, Rosa, and the staff of Gilda’s Holiday House, for making our holiday simply magical!!

This place is a bit older and dated but the location is convenient . The place was easy to access and they had a parking spot for our vehicle.. We stayed in an apt not just a hotel room. The view was exceptional and the common sitting area was bright and airy. The breakfast was decent. You can walk to the town center which is just over 1km away. The biggest plus is the hospitality of Gilda and her husband as well as the staff. They make you feel like family.

As soon as the driver pulled up and we looked at the view we were impressed.
This gorgeous little piece of paradise is run by Gilda, her husband Giuseppe and the fabulous Rosa.
Our room had a gorgeous view looking back towards Positano and over the Mediterranean plus a very comfy bed, a separate kitchen and bathroom.
We spent three nights here and found Rosa to be extremely helpful- she looked up bus times for us, booked us dinner and spent lots of time just talking and laughing with us.

Gilda and Giuseppe were such a lovely couple - they cooked breakfast and I couldn’t get enough of Gilda’s hugs and kisses!

The location is 1 km from Positano but once you know the bus times - it’s easy. The bus stop is 30 metres from the gate.

We walked into town a couple of times - this took 20 mins and the views were spectacular. Be aware the road is narrow - take care when walking.

Don’t be concerned about restaurant options - most restaurants will come and collect you and bring you back after dinner...

This holiday house is beautiful - run by genuine beautiful people.

I would recommend this accomodation to anyone.

The four of us stayed in HHG for 2 nights. We enjoyed our stay very much, Gilda and Rosa are fantastic hosts.

Our room was available upon check in. We stayed in apartment Laura, equipped with 2 double bedrooms, 1 bathroom and kitchentte. The room was very clean, spacious and functional. We love the fact that clothes hanging racks were installed in the terrance, useful for our laundry. Best part of the room is the view, it was a blessing to wake up with such breathtaking views of Positano.

We arrived around noon time, Gilda greeted us upon arrival and shown us to our room. Even though she did not speak much English, she still took good care of us. Knowing that we were hungry, she immediately arranged restaurant shuttle to pick us up for lunch. While waiting for the shuttle, she offered us cold drinks plus made us some delicious home made bruschetta.

We met Rosa after lunch, she gave us an overview of the town of Positano and the surrounding areas, as well as the corresponding bus schedules. She also suggested us itinerary for Path of God hike, advised us the best time and best place start the hike.

We had breakfast once during our stay, €5 per person. It was a decent big breakfast. The last day we needed to catch the ferry early so didn't have time for breakfast, Gilda was nice enough to offer us plenty of croissant on the go. We were all very touched by her thoughtfuless.

The highlight of this place is the cats and dogs living there. The family has an open door policy for cats and dog on the street, how nice! There were total of 10 cats and 1 dog, don't worry, all of them are super cute and super friendly.

The beach is around 250 steps down from the b&b. It was well worth the walk though, blue turqouise water with a little bar. Chairs and umbreallas are free as long as you buy drinks from the bar. Water taxi from the beach to Positano port is €5 per person.

The only complain we have was that the b&b is a bit far from town center. It was a 15 minutes walk to the fork (town center bus station), then another 15 minutes downhill walk to the port (where the public beach and ferries are). In Positano you need to climb lots of stairs everywhere, adding on another 15+15 minutes walk to the b&b can be quite tiring, especially after a long day of activities. Taxi from the fork to the b&b cost €30, which was steep. Bus were infrequent though.

All in all, we had a wonderful stay. Gilda, Rosa and the cleaning lady (sorry forgot her name) could not have been nicer. Especially Gilda, who treated us like her own grandchildren, she makes this place super special.
