Not only was our meal at La Tagliata the highlight of our trip to the Amalfi Coast, it was quite possibly the best meal we have ever had traveling. Incredibly delicious and generously abundant, we were absolutely amazed. Raffaele was a terrific host and the entire family treated us to one homemade delight after another. Be forewarned, if you finish the bottle of wine the will bring you another, all included in the price. 40E Per gives you course after course including dessert and coffees. Bring your appetite!!!

First we were picked up at our hotel in Positano by a shuttle with others who were going to the restaurant. The shuttle was on time as promised. The moment we arrived we were treated like family from start to finish. The owner spent time with each and every table throughout the night. The food was delicious and abundant. It was served family style and it just kept coming. In fact, by the time they served the main dish, which was various meats, we were close to full. Next time we go we will know to better pace ourselves during each serving. It was one of the best dining experiences we had during our entire 9 day visit along the Amalfi Coast.

My wife and I ate at this restaurant during a rain storm and cold weather. We could only imagine the view had the weather been nice. That aside, the food is outstanding!!!! Luigi and Rafaelle were great hosts. Our advice is to pace yourself as the food just keeps coming and is served family style. First the antipasto with fresh items from the garden and if you ate it all you would be full for the night. Then the Primi Piatti with four or five types of pasta all very tasty. Next the roasted meats, sausage, rabbit, pork, and beef. Then three desserts, with fruit, including grapes soaked in Sambuca, Tiramisu, pistachio cake. All was outstanding, with wine and water included. No menu, but there is enough selection to satisfy anyone. Very reasonable price. I would highly recommend this restaurant!!!! P.S. we drove as part of our trip from Sorrento to Ravello, and ate in Positano on the way back. The drive can be treacherous so recommend parking in Positano and taking a taxi.
