This restaurant has a superb setting and historic features. But the food disappointed and I ate little. No alternative was offered.
My simple seafood starter was an overworked combination of a few heavy items, eg an enormous mussle with awful stuffing, an average pastry horn with a hint of shrimp inside. I ate morsels from this dish.
The main mussels dish was more disappointing. I did not feel the green lipped mussels were entirely fresh, and the broth was far too salty to be drunk. No alternative was offered when I returned this second dish. Staff seemed oblivious, and were disinterested in whether the food pleased.
One to avoid for food!
