We ordered several plates to share and try different things. For anti pasti we had the mixed bruschetta and rustic meats sampler. For our main dishes we ordered truffle pasta, girasole and the tenderloin. Everything was delicious and reasonably priced.

Picture a perfect late summer night, cool breeze, castle in the background quiet piazza.
Add great food, lovely service, a kind and funny owner and you realize, this must be Italy!
This Osteria was recommended to us by Christina at Castella del Sala along with another owned by the Ermini brothers, L'Antica Rupe being the other. Watching prosciutto and cheeses being cut as ordered in the main dining room brought the meal over the top. The wine was superb, the pici with Chianina beef in white sauce was breathtaking. Go, go go...don't miss this beautiful restaurant.

Arrived here after 14.30 on a Sunday in late September and had to wait for a table, which was a good start. Perfect pasta -girasole and gramigna. Then the carpaccio of Chianina, satisfyingly rare and highly recommended. The other memorable thing was the wine, a 2010 Umbrian Merlot, so nice we bought 2 bottles to take with us. Good service, the courses came in the right order and a good location, off the main drag in Piazza Popolo.

We booked this restaurant having been reccomeneded to do so. Absolutely delicious food, the gnocchi was great as we're all the meat dishes. I had the coniglio which is one of the best takes on the meat I've had in Italy (which is a lot). Similarly the rest of the group either had a beef fillet which inspired food envy or pasta both of which they gave thumbs up too. The staff were wonderful and spoke in Italian for those who can and provided English menus for those who couldn't. We sat outside which was lovely and cool . I highly recommend this restaurant despite some of the bad press it's recieved in some reviews - none of which I'd particularly agree with... buon appetito!

the atmosphere is perfect--a quaint little trattoria with red checked tablecloths, candlelight, whitewashed shabby chic tables and chairs.....Sides of aged ham and proscuitto hang from the ceiling, very Italian....Wine list is nice but could improve with a little more depth. Located right in the Piazza del Popolo, the outside tables are great on a warm moonlit evening.
