Good choice not far from the central piazza and Duomo (15mins walking). Simple, clean, staff friendly and professional. Breakfast with Italian cornetto and coffee, other stuff to be ordered or cooked by yourself

Parking at 5 mins walking

My husband and I wanted to visit Orvieto for one night during our three week adventure in Italy. We booked the room online with Jasmine and she requested to know our arrival time. We informed her of our arrival time. The walk from the funicular is across the small town, which was long however neat introduction to the town.

The only issue we had was with the arrival. We had to wait over an hour for Jasmine to arrive from the time we informed her. Luckily some of the other guests were still there.....waiting for her.....so they tried contacting her with no luck. We had been waiting for some time when another couple arrived for check-in. When Jasmine finally arrived she did not ask who was waiting first....but helped the other couple and did not even introduce herself to us or say hi. Honestly, we were ready to walk out and find another place to stay for such a poor first impression.

We were checked in and went and explored the town. After that everything was fine, the room was comfortable. The breakfast was okay, especially when she mentioned that the cheese was a "cheap" cheese.

Out of our three week trip through Italy and staying at over 7 B&B's and hotels....this is the only one we would not stay at again. The B&B itself is a great space! The disorganization and impersonal greeting was enough for us though not to return.

We only spent one night here but it was just perfect. The accommodation in an old Tufo building has been renovated with great style and taste, retaining lovely original features. It is perfectly clean throughout with very comfortable beds and efficient showers. It is located in the centre of town in a maze of medieval one-way narrow streets. Our delightful hostess came to meet us at the church to guide us in! I don't think it was the first time she had had to do that. The town is well worth a visit, very interesting and attractive - we plan to return.

I'd read many reviews about where to stay and decided on La Casa di Tufo. It really paid off.

Jasmine, the owner, was away but the couple standing in for her were amazing! Luoli and Bob (Roberto) were incredible hosts. Luoli found out that I was gluten intolerant and got me some special supplies - so thoughtful. After breakfast she even walked us over to a small beautiful church that we had missed and recommended a great walk. It was also so interesting to hear about their life between Orvieto and Rome. Luoli, I loved meeting you and hope to do so again.

Bob, you thought your English wasn't quite good enough but it was, and we loved your sense of humour - we enjoyed having our romantic photo taken. :)

If anyone reading this is concerned about this BnB being on the other side of town, please don't be. We found this to be the nicest part as it is very old and walking here is stunning and a bit quieter. Transport is fine - we caught a taxi after the funicular as we didn't want to walk with our bags on such a hot day. The taxi was quick and reasonable but Jasmine also provided alternative options and this would have been fine as the town is actually very walkable.

We really regretted only booking the one night. After big cities, Orvieto was a great respite and it has been our favourite place in Italy. Don't miss walking down the incredible well near the funicular. This town has some real gems and this BnB is one of the.

Room Tip: We stayed in a room at the top facing the small entry lane. In addition to a large bedroom, it had a mezzanine bedroom with 2 small beds and a separate kitchen room and bathroom. It was spacious and thought this would be good for friends or a small family.
