We stayed for two weeks in the Biancaneve apartment - one of two suites in Casa Aurora. (Biancaneve is Italian for Snow White). It's located on a quiet street a few minutes walk from the busy Piazza Duomo - twenty minutes walk (with our luggage) from the funicular to the train station.
Like most of Orvieto, it's constructed from the soft, warm, gold-coloured local tufa rock. Watch your head on the low rounded archway between the living room and the fully-equipped kitchen. Upstairs is a nice double-bedroom. Large, modern bathroom with ample shower.
In addition, the Biancaneve suite includes a large, private outside patio enclosed with a stone wall. A table and 4 chairs make it perfect for dining - or just enjoying a glass of wine - al fresco.
There's a TV - and wireless internet access - though we only got the internet gadget when we asked for it.
