Stumbled upon this perfect gem of a hotel whilst on a cycle tour. Lovely people, SUPERB FOOD, and perfect surroundings.
This Agro-tourism hotel is great in that is has a lovely setting, is very smart and has clear rooms, and a dining room I would travel many many miles to eat in. If they this place was classified it would be a 4 star hotel (if it added a pool it would be 5 star).

As you can see from my other reviews, I tend to be quite critical but realise now that praise should also be given where it is due, and this place is made by the attention and care of its owners.

Great food and great views. Do not miss the Piano Grande di Castelluccio! And don't come without your phrase book if you don't know Italian...

We found this through TripAdvisor and it lived up to our high expectations. We came to see the spring flowers on the Piano Grande and as well as being an excellent base for this, we enjoyed very warm hospitality from Ernesto, his brother and his family. The food was great and we loved that most of the staff spoke relatively little English (they were patient and charming over my very hesitant phrase book Italian). Our room was near the large covered roof terrace and it was great to be able to sit and enjoy the panoramic views in the ever changing light. There were walks from the door into beautiful countryside and you can walk into Norcia if you're feeling fit (take a torch though) although we woke up every dog in the neighbourhood on our return! Evening meals were lovely (loads of food) and the wine and digestives much appreciated (no need for lunch though!)
Breakfast is served at 8.30 and supper at 8.00 which suited us fine. If you are thinking of staying here you won't be disappointed. It comes highly recommended. Grazie mille.

When we planned our trip to Italy in May, we weren't expecting to visit Norcia or even Umbria. But a spur of the moment decision led us to the Casale degli Amici and we loved the atmosphere of the Agriturismo and the surrounding countryside that we stayed 3 days and used it as a base for exploring other Umbrian towns including Asissi and Spoletto.

Our hosts were extremely friendly and although they spoke only a little English it did nothing to detract from our enjoyment. The little restaurant served delicious breakfasts, including fresh warm ricotta and honey each morning, delicious tarts and pastries and of course pecorino, parmigiano and prosciutto. The restaurant is small and intimate and also serves fantastic regional specialities for dinner, which included Tiramisu with ricotta, Lentils with sage, Lasagne with sausage and walnuts, and Capretto tartuffato (goat). After we got back home it was really amazing how much better food grown locally on a farm can taste!

The rooms are medium-sized and very clean, with a small bathroom and shower, and television. The views from each room were amazing and we never tired from waking up and looking out over the Umbrian hills each morning.

We got some extremely useful tips on things to do in the surrounding countryside from our hosts who were keen to make sure we enjoyed our stay.

We would highly recommend a stay at the Amici as this is a little gem in a part of Italy that is often overlooked by travellers.

This is a recently converted farm into an agriturismo. The surroundings are beautiful, family very hospitable (very little English spoken so take your phrase book) and the food excellent organic home produced fare.

The rooms are of average size, with no hairdryers, but wonderful views!

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit having stayed in similar accommodation throughout Italy. It is an ideal base for walking and sightseeing. At the present time there is no pool (? one planned) but it would benefit greatly from this addition in the summer months I would imagine.
