The Villa exceeds expectations, because the pictures on the internet can not begin to do this lovely place justice. Flowers in every room, The villa is so lovely that you hate to leave it to go exploring Tuscany. Location is great, easy to reach all the sites of Tuscany Cortona, Montepulicano, Siene, Assissi, But the welcome back to the Villa is so sweet.
Take advantage of the food services offered by Ceciliia and her family. Breakfast service was perfect, they think of every thing. The welcoming dinner was so good and lovely not to have to worry about dinner it was ready upon arrival and delicious. Alma can cook! We took advantage of the chef dinner and the cooking with the chef and it was Fab! Lucca was so personable that we felt like we made a friend. His cooking is Cooking Channel worthy.
Your Tuscany adventure at the Villa is enriched by the friendly and caring family whose primary concern is to assure you an exception experience. There are so many spots around the Villa to sit and enjoy the sun, the views, or the pool.
This is Tuscany at its best! If you have any dreams of a Villa in Tuscany this must be it! Make sure to use all the services, welcome dinner, traditional dinner Chef's dinner the cooking class This is a grand adventure to be enjoyed. Cecillia and family Thanks for all the memories.

“Exceeded Our Expectations”

La Valiana is a beautiful, first-class home away from home; a beautifully restored and maintained Tuscan villa. All the rooms are large and comfortably furnished. Baths attached to the four bedrooms are all updated with modern fixtures. We made three meals of our own in the nicely equipped kitchen. The villa exceeded our expectations in every aspect. Even though the pictures on the web site are beautiful, you have to see it for real to truly appreciate this lovely, comfortable villa.

The villa has views in all directions of the grounds and the Tuscan countryside, covered with vineyards and blessed morning and evening with beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Our week was also blessed with beautiful weather, making the entire vacation a storybook occasion.

Cicilia and her family are kind, gracious Italians with a history in the area. If you want, I recommend spending time with them to learn about Tuscany, La Valiana, and Italy. She also gave us daily recommendations of restaurants in the nearby cities we were planning to visit. They are lovely people and Cicilia will make you feel like you may never want to leave this beautiful place.

Besides first-class accommodations, La Valiana also offers several extra cost services, including dinners, area tours, breakfast buffets, and cooking classes. We took advantage of two dinners and the breakfast buffets. Cicilia’s mother prepared a Welcome dinner for our arrival evening making our introduction into Tuscany a truly special, Italian beginning. Our other dinner extra was the Private Chef’s Dinner, held in a beautiful private kitchen and dining room at the villa. Chef Luca, from the nearby Avignonesi Winery, cooked and served an outstanding meal for us one evening. The daily breakfast buffets were both a good start to our days and an opportunity to spend more time with Cecilia and talk with her about her Italy. All are highly recommended.

This was a family vacation for us. There were seven in our group and we were all very comfortable living in the villa. With six full days in the villa, we split our time between area touring and the villa. For our first and last days, we stayed in or near the villa, driving to the local, nearby cities to grocery shop, eat or see the sites, which included the local Avignonesi Winery. During these days we also included time to enjoy the villa relaxing, enjoying the countryside, and sampling the selection of wines offered by Cecilia at the villa. For the other four days, we visited Tuscan hill towns in the area. We decided to keep our pace leisurely, so we only visited one town per day. You could visit two towns, if you increase your pace.

I hope we get an opportunity to return to La Valiana. It is so typically Tuscan, as I have always imagined and read it to be. Thanks to Cicilia and her family for making our family vacation a memory for a lifetime. You have exceeded our expectations.

“Peace and Quiet”
Reviewed 9 November 2015 for a stay in October 2015

The tranquil setting near the Tuscany / Umbria border is well worth the visit.
Our host, Cecilia and her parents were most helpful and made us feel at home. They were responsive to all of our needs and helped arrange everything.
Excellent for four couples or a family who like to cook. Although it was late in the season, we had full use of the lovely garden which provided us with tomatoes, eggplant, celery, zucchini, figs, grapes and herbs. We certainly hope to return. Bella Toscana!

Dear Mike B.,
Thank you for posting your kind review, it means so much to us.
I am so happy to know that you enjoyed your stay in late October--and the vegetable garden too!
You came at a wonderful time of year; late October is a fantastic period for visiting Tuscany: this is the time of new oil, white truffles, chestnuts, etc.. crisp fall weather, and fewer tourists.
I am very happy you appreciated your experience at the villa and now sharing it with your beautiful review.
Your pleasure and satisfaction are what we want--and to know that you might consider coming back to stay with us again is wonderful.
Ciao,
CECILIA

“Perfect!”
Reviewed 18 October 2015 for a stay in September 2015

We recently celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary in Italy. La Valiana was perfect! Our hosts could not have been more welcoming & helpful. It was our first time to the Tuscan area & the location was great for all of our site seeing. We were a party of 6 which included 2 singles & 2 couples. The villa was set up perfect & had plenty of room for everyone. The landscape was beyond our wildest dreams, a pool, veggie garden, Bar-B-Q,gazebo, fruit trees. We used every space. We took advantage of the option of having a pizza class given in the villa & had a typical Italian dinner prepared & served on our special night. Cecilia & her family made us feel like we were part of theirs! We would recommend their villa to everyone. We only have 1 suggestion and that is do not go expecting to find American style showers in all 4 bathrooms.

“Exceptional Villa in superb location”
Reviewed 15 October 2015 for a stay in September 2015

My wife & I stayed with another couple in later September 2015. We can't praise Cecilia & her wonderful parents enough. From the moment we arrived we were blown away with their wonderful hospitality. The villa itself far exceeded our high expectations. It is in a private setting with a lovely pool & surrounded by vineyards & gardens. The fresh figs were particularly delicious! A wonderful spot to return to after exploring nearby villages like Montepulciano & Cortona, as well as being close to Siena, Montalcino & Florence within driving distance or a train ride. We are seasoned travellers & rate this villa & the kindness of Cecilia & her parents as tops. This is not to be missed.
