I have been visiting Hotel degli Olivi now for 10 years (!) - always for two weeks, this time with a friend, otherwise on my own - and I am extremely pleased with everything: the amazing hospitality of the family and the staff, the beautiful garden with the olive trees and the little jacuzzi, where you can relax perfectly, the fantastic food for breakfast and especially for dinner (home made by "la mamma" and mostly regional, always fresh and with a great variety), the perfect location close to the lake on a little hill (you are in the centre of Garda within 5 minutes), comfortable and very clean rooms. An ideal retreat to spend a relaxing time off with your family, friends or as well if you are travelling alone, as I almost do ! Everyone of the family and the staff gives his best to make your stay mostly enjoyable, but without imposing on you ! It's simply great !!! I would definitely recommend it !!!

Room Tip: Rooms with balcony and a lake side view are most comfortable

Rooms were very tired. Extremely small shower with curtain rail. Air conditioning is controlled by management & is only turned on from 5.30pm - 10.00pm & then only if they remember to do so. Had to ask continually for it to be turned on. No toaster for breakfast. Lots of mosquitos.

Direzione H, Direttore at Hotel Degli Olivi, responded to this reviewResponded 3 October 2016

We sincerely regret that the "Mr" had in his opinion an uncomfortable stay at our hotel.

We wish to clarify that the air-conditioning system in our bedrooms operates based on the external temperature and it does not run 24/7 continuously, because we enjoy a temperate climate and a particularly favourable location. We are immersed in nature, on a site higher then the centre of town and in the evening cooler air blows down from Monte Baldo.
Nonetheless, in the height of summer or on hot days, the AC goes on automatically in the bedrooms, usually toward late afternoon after the heat has accumulated, and it runs until the temperature outside becomes more pleasant, allowing natural ventilation.
We are sorry we could not make that clear to the guest, who might be used to hotels in which the rooms are conceived to stay permanently sealed.

“Mr” considers our rooms "tired". On this point we must say that our interiors have deliberately been kept in the fashion they are, as we consider it part of the hotel's flair.

We would like to point out that in summer mosquitoes may be present in Garda, however they do not carry diseases. The chance to get bitten by mosquitoes in our bedrooms is in fact lower than elsewhere, since the bedrooms are on the upper floors and for those who are more sensitive they are provided with electric repellents.
Furthermore, in the garden we have recently explored eco-sensitive and non-toxic ways of controlling mosquitoes which seem to work quite well and we will continue to do so, to ensure all our guests a most comfortable stay.

Lovely, small hotel. Very friendly staff. The lady that runs it speaks excellent English and German. There is a spa pool, not a swimming pool. Booked a small double room - which was small but adequate. Garden had welcome shade in with plenty of sun loungers. Conservatory a beautiful room for breakfast. HOWEVER the best bit was the food. One sitting only. No choice of menu. You eat what you given - THIS MEANS you try all sorts of delicious home cooked Italian food that we would never have tried! DELICIOUS!!

The location is just perfect, close to the lake yet totally quiet. Comfortable rooms and a really amazing garden and conservatory where to relax.
Food is homemade and genuine, a real delicacy. Definitely worth the stay!

A cosy hotel, with clean and comfortable rooms with great views, and a large garden with even a small jacuzzi. An ideal retreat to spend a relaxing weekend or time off with your family. At walking distance from the town centre to enjoy the restaurants, ice-creams, bars and the Lake, but far enough from the main road to sleep quietly at night or on the stretchers in the garden. Above all, and too often underrated for hotels, is the quality of the food and service. This is a family run business, and all meals are fixed by the landlady with fresh ingredients and following original Italian recipes (even local ones!). Definitively a keeper.
