My husband and I, with his sister and brother-in-law rented the villa for a week and it was PERFECT! The villa and the location was great, the service was fantastic and we would definitely visit again.
We took day trips to Montepulciano, Siena, Pienza and Rome and explored the villages of Chiusi and Citta Della Pieve. A car is a must if you stay here.
The villa was stocked with wine, prosecco and olive oil. We loved the wine and the prosecco but haven't tried the olive oil yet.
The little market in Citta Della Pieve has everything you need so there is no need to go to the larger one in Chiusi. There is also a cafe/gelateria beside the market where you can buy great pastries, wine, beer, etc. On our first day my husband and BIL stopped in to buy beer and wine but they don't accept CC and neither had euros. The store owner told them to come back the next day and pay! I suppose this pretty much says it all about how wonderful the people are in the area!
We had dinner at two restaurants in Citta Della Pieve. The restaurant at Locanda Della Picca was amazing! The food was great and the view...unbelievable! The other was Coppetta Bruno Trattoria and the food was very good as was the setting!
My only regret is that we didn't stay longer!
