We spent a wonderful week in Siena last year in July, in this excellent hotel. It is located in a very nice place, so, wherever you go, everything is near from there. The stuff is very kind, the rooms are big, clean and comfortable. Flat TV, excellent wifi, beautiful bathroom, very good room service. Next time we go to Siena- this hotel'll be our choice again.

No heat in May! Cold & rainy. Beds are uncomfortable, pillows like slabs of cement. Breakfast boring. SAme thing everyday for 7 days. Raw bacon, lots of carbs. Coffee not hot. Can not imagine anyone ever coming back!

Room Tip: Can not do this

This hotel has been around through a long successful period and still makes a great feeling staying there. Off season is better with more service per individual. Just spent one night this trip but the standard was still there.

Stayed three nights on a coach tour, first impressions very grand. Our first room had no shower said we had not booked one, changed our room but made a fuss about it.Second room Ok but no AC. Food the first night was a disgrace terrible main course and then gave us a plastic spoon to eat our dessert with. Complained to our tour company things did improve next two nights.Such a shame with some updating in the bedrooms, and better food this hotel could be great.

A shame as sadly it's true this hotel is at best past its prime.

I think we must have stayed with the same tour group as the earlier correspondent's review did back in June, as my observations on the food are almost identical; even down to the type of meals served including green potatoes with our first meal (which we sent immediately back) and tinned peas on night two.

Yes there are positives the room size was very generous and the swimming pool and view was excellent. However despite the antique furniture overall one gets the impression this once grand hotel is struggling; in my view its tired and needs attention to the basics
