We are touring around Sicily, over the next ten days. We left Palermo, after a busy three days of sightseeing and were looking forward to fresh air.
On arrival we were met, by a friendly receptionist. We were upgraded to a sea view, the sun was shining and the sea a beautiful blue. We were in room 102 a double bed along with a single and a hideous blue paint on the walls, small balcony with two chairs. Downside was a filthy fridge and mouldy, damp smelly bathroom.
We took a walk into town exploring, Cefalus pretty streets, for the afternoon and meandered back along the beach. We went up La Rocca, a trek to the top 2.5 hours there and back. Stunning views.
Hotel Tourist is about 15 minutes out of town, so we decided to eat in the hotel. There is nothing close by. DON'T do it!. Its a set menu, which you are asked to tick for your choice. We both ate the same, courgettes grilled with cheese (were good) a plate of lasagne slop (it was cold) a couple beside us, sent it back and tinned fruit salad.
We used the pool which was clean and had a drink at the bar in the evening.
Breakfast next morning is average continental. Avoid the coffee and fruit juice. Drink tea or order from the bar.
We ate at Galleria on our last evening and enjoyed it.
