As others have said, this is in a great location in the traffic free area (although watch out for taxis doing drop-offs from the parking area!). We had the room with terrace - really quirky, under the eaves, and with stairs to the balcony/terrace and bathroom. We could see the spire of the Cathedral from the terrace - which is lit at night - so it was a fantastic location. The room was clean and comfortable, and breakfast was good (especially the cake!).
The town itself is pretty touristy, but there's a good range of restaurants which were open in early May - in fact we never managed to get into one as it was booked up both nights. The highlight, however, is the Cathedral - its mosaics, although not on such a grand scale as Monreale, are finer in detail. The Christ Pantocrator is beautiful - I'm not religious but it manages to combine both the divine and human in it execution. Try and go early to avoid the tour groups, though.More
