We have been coming to Castiglione del Lago for over 10 years. The food in Paprika has always been very good and the change in management has made no difference to the quality. We still eat there very happily. I especially love their ravioloni ripieni with gorgonzola and noci. My husband is a big fan of the fish menu. Visitors to Castiglione for only 1/2 days could miss out on the smaller restaurants which is a pity.

We have visited this restaurant over the past 10 years. In the past we had had good to wonderful food.

On this occasion we had soup to start which was fine, then we had one pasta course and one risotto course. Both were seafood. My wif's risotto was meadiocre with 4 prawns.
I had spaghetti with clams. This meal was the most dissapointing meal ever eaten in Italy.
There was a bowl of spaghetti and 12 minute clams shrivelled and had no taste.

The only highlight was a bottle of wine !

We left in disgust and will never visit again.

We have had a home in Italy for the last 14 years and never had such a poor meal !

Very sad to have to write this report.

We ate here 3 times on recent trip to area. Claudia, the only waitress, speaks great english and was great fun for us. Greeted us by name after our first visit. The atmosphere was inviting and i quite liked the brick and rustic italian feel. It was explained to us that the previous owner mismanaged the place and didn't pay anyone or utilities. Because of this, the chef, think his name is Rosso, took ownership, along with his wife, who works front of house. Rosso is Italian, German and his kindness and generosity was one of the most unexpected parts of our trip. He had a grappa with us our second visit, on the house. 3rd visit he welcomed me by name, though he doesn't really speak english and gave us a house bottle of red. we spent 3 hours here each time just talking with claudia and enjoying. it means something to us when we are greeted warmly and hugged upon arrival. multiple fresh pizzas and a great bruschette misto. offered a rabbit special if that's your thing. my wife said the shrimp risotto was simply perfect. the red pesto was a highlight for me. prices are a bit high compared to others in the area, but well worth it to us. when we left we all exchanged e-mails. i recommended they establish a web site or change name due to past issues, but they seem to not understand. give this place a shot and understand it is only really 1 month old. we hope they succeed and will be back.

We stayed nearby and tried a lot of the lovely restaurants. This was definitely the worse. A lot of things on the menu were not available. Portions were small and food not very nice. Service was slow. To end the email, they claimed that their credit card machine wasn't working. It miraculously started working when I claimed to have no cash.
