Our hosts, Simon and Verity, were marvels of hosting. They made sure we were comfortable and knew the ins and outs. They were hospitable without being intrusive. A true skill. The accommodations were clean and comfortable. We cooked our own meals on several occasions during out ten day stay, and Verity served a delicious meal for many of the guests one evening (not gratis). Their son's were delightful and the two dogs will happily accompany you if you decide to take a long walk. The scenery is splendid with clear views of San Gimignano in the mornings. The sunsets were gorgeous. Once in particular was the most beautiful I've ever seen and lasted for almost a half hour. The farm is isolated. This prevents quick walks into town, but as compensation it provides peace and tranquility. The market in town on Saturdays is small but offers everything you will need in terms of fresh produce, meat, seafood, pasta, sauces, etc. and the sellers were extremely friendly and helpful. If you want something off the beaten track, that's relaxing and yet still within easy reach of Siena and Florence, we think you could do no better. BTW, there will be other guests and there was some wonderful socializing, but there is no need to feel compelled to join in on the patio late in the afternoon. If you want to be alone it's easy to locate a private spot.
