We spent six nights at Le Piazze as part of a longer trip. The hotel is positioned in a stunning location, surrounded by rolling hills, cypress trees and Sangiovese vineyards. Views from the terrace and pool are stunning. Our room was the last available when we booked and classed as ‘executive’ - it was split level and very comfortable, with AC, good bathroom etc, a decent size and view of the hills from the window. If (when?!) we go again, we’d upgrade to one of the rooms with a private terrace as they looked fantastic and it would be nice to sit out with a drink before/after dinner. On to the food - this was the big surprise for us, as we just weren’t expecting the food to be as good as it was...

Regional Tuscan food made with care and great ingredients, and a careful balance between presentation and keeping things on the right side of ‘cheffy’. Everything we ate was great, but standouts were the shellfish tagliatelle and the best risotto I’ve ever eaten. Just awesome. All of the staff were very friendly and relaxed but a special mention to Mr Bucci (the sommelier) who was really helpful and great fun, as well as the restaurant manager as she also made us extremely welcome every night.

A quick pointer that might help on your visit - you will 100% need a car to get around and the hotel is off a short stretch of ‘stradale bianchi’, so is effectively a gravel road and quite rough. If you’re hiring a car maybe go something not too sporty (normal saloons/hatches/SUVs are fine), although there was a £200k+ Ferrari in the car park during our stay, so it is possible with lower-slung machinery (with a bit of wincing). This should not put you off, just worth knowing if you’re booking a hire car.

This place is really outstanding and excellent value for money. Enjoy!

Everything about Locanda Le Piazze says excellence. The reception staff of Lisa, Noemi Julia and Andrea were truly professional and warm. Lisa gave us daily hints on where to tour off the beaten track in Tuscany and every place she mentioned was perfect. Smaller villages, non -touristic Tuscany, winding roads through the vineyards really made our trip. Edina in the breakfast restaurant went out of her way, always with a smile to make us machiatto's. The room we stayed in was beautiful, nicely furnished and housekeeping fantastic. The pool simply amazing. The peacefulness, beautiful grounds, location were all what we had hoped for. This is the perfect place to use as a base for daily road trips with late afternoons at the pool. Everyone raved about the restaurant but we went out nightly in Castelina in Chianti as we were more interested in local Tuscan fare. Lisa and Noemi suggested a few restaurants and made us reservations and they all were perfect choices. Our week at Locande Le Piazze left us relaxed, smiling and grateful for our opportunity to be at a special Tuscan hotel. I travel 120 nights a year for my photography tour business and stay at many beautiful hotels, Locanda is on the top of my list.

Room Tip: Room 14 is quiet and has a great early morning view

The best honeymoon we could ask for! Perfect for lounging at the pool, amazing restaurant with the BEST food, room service was delicious, and the staff are so sweet and attentive. They even arranged a driver for us to and from the train and a day of wine tasting in Chianti. We can’t wait to come back.

Locanda Le Piazze was breathtaking. Our room was perfect, wine was delicious, and the scenery and pool were very tranquil. We ate at their restaurant as well and it did not disappoint. The hotel staff was friendly. They helped us book a cooking class and even left us a bottle of proseco in our room to congratulate us on our honeymoon! We would highly recommend this boutique hotel. Absolutely no complaints! A Tuscan paradise!
