My first and last holiday at Guilivo Hotel & Village in Baia Domizia Italy.
To start off with the good things, the hotel is after renovation. The rooms are clean, spacious, airy. The bathroom is clean and new BUT in there you will find only one reallllyyy small and tiny soap, and only 1 sachet of shampoo that it looks like the tasters in the magazine, that small. Basically for people who are bold.
It turns out that if you want to use the little fridge in the room you have to pay 2 euros per day, where normally in a 4-star hotel this is included in the room. Thank God, they didn't ask us to pay for the air conditioner!

In the balcony there are only two chairs, there is NO table. Even if you ask the staff to find you a table from somewhere there isn't any.

The beach is really nice, the sunbed, umbrella, and bed with sunblind are included in the room. BUT the sand is black not gold. Although it is soft.

If you want to get beach towels for the beach, be aware to ALWAYS wait for some kind of a receipt or note. ALWAYS insist on some kind of a note with signature on it, because if not the staff will ask you to pay AGAIN. For the record, the beach towels are nothing like you would have imagined, it's like a big piece of cloth/table cloth, not a normal towel!

If you happen to order something at the beach bar, ALWAYS, ALWAYS ask for a receipt with a detailed description of that you are paying for and a signature. Because it is likely that you will end up paying for something that you have never ordered.

The breakfast and dinner are in a really nice restaurant, but it is sooo limited. There is barely anything left in the morning after the first 10 people have gone through it. At breakfast, there is not 1 fruit!
The dinner offers only 1 green salad, 1 salad I couldn't believe it. It is Italy, there should be dozens of different salads, but no. Also when they serve you fish for dinner, there is no lemon or anything. Because apparently in Italy lemons don't exist.

Room Tip: quieter rooms are the one without a balcony or facing the pool

I was at the hotel with my wife in late August `16 and we definitely enjoy it. Baia Domizia is quiet nice village not too far from Naples and the islands around it. The hotel is immersed in the green and is right on the beach. There is also a pool for those who prefer it, although we always went for the beach, which is clean and well organized, with umbrellas always avalable. You can tell that the rooms have been renovated very recently. Breakfast was good and abundant, with fruits, cereals, eggs etc...a general continental breakfast plus the usual italian cappuccinos, pastries and similar. So all in all an excellent experience at a very reasonable price. Staff was also courteous and careful.

Terrible wine, poor food (we were on breakfast- dinner scheme). At dinner once we wanted to have a cup of hot water from the coffee machine and the waiter Antonio denied us with a lot of aggressive comments to use it for a stomach tea (my wife had the whole day stomach problems). We offered money for this cup of hot water – no way! Strange behavior provided that the older waiters and especially the staff at the reception provide five stars service.
Nice beach.

Room Tip: Ask for the room viewing the parking – excellent sleeping quality. The opposite side have a laptop singer/karaoke daily till midnight.

This hotel is absolute disaster!
There are plenty of attractive notations about Giulivo like 'low price', 'private beach', 'a family hotel', 'no buffet food but dishes', 'plenty entertainment'... but at the end it is bad even worse than cheap. Some examples:
1/ ye, prices are low but you get rooms and service are far below 4* - air-conditioning in the room is spitting water over your bed badly; shampoo sets for the day are big like sachette testers, towels are very thin, no room service, wake-up calls are coming on wrong time, a few of personnel speak English, they cannot offer lunch if not pre-ordered the previous day and choice is from only two dishes;
2/ ye, beach is good but you get fixed umbrella and Italians are always at the first rows; the beach looks clean but in fact we had plenty of cigarettes and even broken glass in the sand;
3/ it looks like family hotel but under 'family’ they mean cheap and low equipped- no special children corner, games or animators during the day, pool space is too small;
4/ no buffet means you have to pre-order from only two dishes for next day but there is plenty cheapness here - the starter is always pasta, the second is fast cooked dishes and if you are not Italian or German you get just a bite; no additional meal can be prepared, even getting a beer is difficult, wine is from bottles with no label, water is limited, salads are two types of green salad, badly looking and tasting tomatoes, blue tomato and beans from can; No fruits!;
5/ entertainment during the day is none but wait for the night you get a lot - unbearable noise: the 'theater' show starts from 10pm and continues till midnight and it is mainly karaoke, children singing or screaming entertainers’ improvising; meanwhile the granny type music from the bar is also on, so up in your room you get absolute cacophony even your windows are closed and this terrible noise is every night - no early rest since personnel continues moving tables till after midnight; complaints about the noise are useless they don't care about your rest even more - one of the evenings the hotel organised a party for people not staying in the hotel so the best locations was occupied from lunch time and the additional noise till small hours in the night was terrible.
Additionally you have only water in the minibar, hot water is missing in after beach time hours, the shower is a mediocre sprayer fixed on the wall, no table on the terrace... so - tradegy.

Considering the costs Giulivo can only be faulted for the lack of food and services choice and the loud singing and karaoke every night until 00:00. Baia Domizia is a quiet village with not much to do or eat. It is also quite a long way from Napoli despite Italian driving. Older people would enjoy both the hotel and village.
