The hotel offers chalet type rooms which allows one to sit outside on a small terrace. Rooms are basic but complete. Dinner is of good quality. Recommended if you want to stay somewhat rural and quiet.

This was our first trip to Sardinia, and this was our first out of three locations and hotels on the island. Its about an hour or so from Olbia airport and about 10-15 minutes drive from the town of Arzachena. On arrival the hotel has a rustic look about it and set amongst lovely rock formations. Tenuta Pilastru was a typical Sardinian farmhouse before its transformation.
There is plenty of parking too. On arrival the staff were very welcoming and although we arrived an hour before check in our room was ready. We were situated in a room opposite the pool area which was ideal and to our right the lovely rock formation. down to the left on the opposite side of the pool was the small bar and snack bar. Our room was large and spacious with a huge bathroom. Plenty of cupboard space and drawers, the usual hairdryer, TV, and also a mini bar- prices very reasonable. Outside you had a small terrace area with table and chairs.
The restaurant was adjacent to the rock formation and has a nice terrace which you can sit and enjoy the view. Breakfast is a typical buffet affair with the usual meats, cheeses, breads, and jams and yoghurts and fruits. the only disappointing thing is their brewed coffee which is not very good. We ordered cappuccinos every day- which is at an extra cost. The evening meals are very nice, and we ate here two out of our five nights. The menu is the same and does not change so for us rather limiting as I don't eat fish. The portion sizes are very generous though. However, the food was of a high quality and particularly delicious is the Suckling Pig, a speciality of Sardinia. Round the back of the restaurant is the outside kitchen area where this is cooked- fascinating to see this!
The snack bar offers a selection of Paninis- which are not paninis how we know them but basically rolls. Antipasti dishes. Its a nice way to start your evening with a cocktail outside looking across at the lovely rock formation and caves which are lit up at night.
The pool is large with sunbeds and umbrellas.
The only annoying thing about the position of the room was, on one particular night a group of children decided that the rock was an ideal place to run and screech about- this continued way past 1am. resolved by my husband banging shut the bathroom window. If this had happened again I would have complained.
From this hotel the drive to Costa Smeralda is not too far- 20km and if you want to drive to Sassari or Alghero- it will take you 2.5 hours.
Take advantage of the local archaeological remains which are a few miles a way.
one thing to add- on the restaurant walls are photos of a few famous people who have visited such as Andy Garcia, Sharon Stone, Helen Mirren and Meryl Streep- what more of a recommendation is there for this beautiful place.

Room Tip: for peace and quiet avoid the rooms opposite the pool

This has a fantastic location amid grand rock formations, with views of mountains and sweet smelling hibiscus all around. You can eat a delicious meal in the restaurant while watching the sun set, with rocks and cacti silhouetted against the sky. The pool is large enough for a proper swim, with enough loungers despite it being high season, and there are fascinating bronze age sites very close by. Only two slight reservations. It's not so great if you are not a dog lover, as the hotel badges itself as 'pet friendly' which seems to mean that dogs can roam at will. One went in the pool in the early morning, one defecated on the lawn and two had a spat next to our window. Also if quiet is really important to you, check to see if there is a dance event coinciding with your visit as their practice music does intrude on the pool area. Despite this, it's a wonderful place to relax away from the commercial developments at the coast.

Tenuta Pilastru comes up in trip advisor as budget accommodation which is a little unfair. If your life in king for peace and quite in the middle of the countryside then this is the place for you.

Rustic comfortable rooms of good size.
Good breakfast with cereal, eggs, cold meat, cake, pastries and fruit.
Beautiful location with long reaching views over the hills.
Very quite and great if you want to unwind.
Nice pool in the garden set amongst the rocks.
Archenzia region has some lovely beaches, it's definitely the playground for the mega rich, the super yachts in the Marinas are amazing.

Apart from the front desk, no one speaks English. The waitresses seem quite sharp and unhelpful.
Very limited choice if you have a vegetarian partner or need anything special. Go B & B and drive into any of the nearby resorts where you can get what you like.
Limited number of sun lounger.
Nearest beach is a 25 minute drive.
Crazy Italian drivers.
