“Total bliss and relaxation !!”
Reviewed 15 July 2017 for a stay in July 2017

We booked the apartment for a week from the 8th to the 15th of July 2017.
Initial emails with the owner Jenny were quickly replied, and very helpful.
We hired a car from Malaga airport, which is essential.
Jenny had sent very precise directions to reach the apartment.
Our flight was very late, which meant we arrived at midnight.Jenny had left the villa and pool lights on to help us home in.
We followed the directions, and reached the villa in about 55mins, with ease. There is a well maintained dirt track, for the last 1.5 kms, but it's not a problem
We stopped at a large Carrefour, and stocked up on booze, and food, for the week.
We slept, and then woke up to beautiful warm sunshine, and the most incredible views you will ever see!! Absolutely breathtaking.
Total silence, apart from the crickets, and birds.
The villa is surrounded by almond, and olive trees.
And lies in a valley in the mountains.
Total bliss.
Your car can take you to either Canillas, or Sedella in about 10 minutes. You will find beautiful narrow streets, with great restaurants,, bars, shops, and a bank.
Weekly markets are close , canillas even had a beautiful, outdoor huge public swimming pool, with a bar and a restaurant, for 2.50 euros a day.
Jenny and Vicks knowledge is very helpful, they can point out best and worst of everything you need.
Although they live on site, you are totally secluded in your area of the villa, and have total secluded space.
But we enjoyed a drink in the courtyard on a few occasions, late at night.with our lovely hosts, who are a joy to talk to.
They took us to a place up the mountain, which was an Argentinian steak house. ( not to be missed)
I'm am finding it hard to put into words how special this place is.
Popping to the local butchers, buying steaks, then lighting the charcoal barbecue, preparing salad fresh from the market, and sipping ice cold wine.
Watching the amazing stars, due to there being no light pollution. It's hard to put the experience into words.
We had a day at the beach, which we reached in 40 mins.( torre del mar) very lively resort. But had a great day. Vick will advise you of dos and donts for beach days.
I dare you to find anything missing in this apartment that you have at home. It is fantastically equipped !!
And finally you have the company if you wish of Amy the beautiful cat, or the new additions to the home, Paddy and Polly, the rescued puppies.
Absolutely delightful pets.
I will 100% be booking again, it so good it's ridiculous !!!
Thank you Jenny and Vick.
You helped us create forever memories.
See you soon.

“Simply wonderful”

Casa Hoya has everything you need for a completely peaceful stay. Located in the foothills of Maroma Mountain, the views towards the sea are stunning, dotted with little white villages, olive groves and (in January) covered in almond blossom. Sunrise and sunset colours are orange and gold and the night sky is full of stars, no pollution or light to spoil it.
There are great walks and pretty little villages within easy reach, super local food in the restaurants if you want to eat out or you can simply buy food from one of the tiny little shops in Sedella or Canillas to cook in the well-equipped apartment and sit out on the veranda, drinking in the view with your meal. Last but certainly not least, Jenny and Vic are superb and generous hosts and make you feel instantly welcome. Look no further if you want a peaceful holiday in gorgeous scenery in this part of Spain.

“Paradise....beautiful, stunning, amazing..”

My partner, Paul and I stayed at Casa Joya in July with our 17 year old twins. We have travelled to many different countries and also stayed all over Spain, but, I have to say, our holiday to Casa Joya was by far our favourite. It is very hard to describe the absolute peace, tranquillity and beauty of the place – you have to see it all to appreciate it.

The lovely greeting we received upon arrival from the owners, Jenny and Vic was warm and welcoming and they made us feel so at home. They are always there for anything you need and will also enjoy a beer or a glass of wine with you, sharing their fascinating stories of their life in this beautiful place. Also, we can’t forget Tess the dog and Amy the cat. I have to say, little Tess was the most loving, friendly, gorgeous little doggie ever – and the fittest 11 year old dog I‘ve ever seen who just loves to play ball lol.

We booked the Casa Joya because of the photos and description on Owners Direct, but neither of these actually does it justice. For the nine days we were there, it was our little bit of heaven. The apartment is beautiful and homely, immaculately clean with every comfort and convenience you need, but also with that extra special something. We had our own patios complete with tables, chairs, sun loungers and the beautiful pool was perfect...and all ours for nine whole days. The views are to die for – absolutely stunning...the best I have ever seen in Spain.

The village of Canillas is a about a 10 minute drive away. The views and scenery on that drive are beautiful and the village is so quaint and very Spanish - here you will find everything you need. Sedella is also very beautiful little village and slightly nearer in the opposite direction. We also went to Nerja beach for the day which was lovely, and again, the scenic mountain drive to get there through Competa, down towards Sayalonga was amazing.

We didn’t eat out very often because of the comfort, homeliness and ease of eating in the apartment. We also enjoyed a lovely evening meal on more than one occasion with the lovely Jenny and Vic. I have to add that for the first time ever at the end of a holiday, Paul didn’t want to leave. Casa Joya has definitely won our hearts – it’s a time and a place we will never forget.

Please don’t look elsewhere, just book the Casa Joya......it’s AMAZING.

Thank you Jenny and Vic for everything and for the wonderful made more special by you ... and we will definitely be seeing you again :) xxxx
