“Magnificent!!”
Reviewed 2 September 2012 for a stay in July 2012

After reading many reviews on tripadvisor we choose Chateau Bavolier to stay in and what a GREAT choice that was!! The owner Ann Roberts obvioulsy has put her heart and soul into renovatng this Chateau and it shows in every single detail, from the way she sets the breakfast table to the beautiful bedrooms and art she has restored on the walls! It is like stepping back in time, you can almost imagine who once lived there and to think that we had the privledge of staying there! The countryside is breathtaking in the surrounding area and you can drive to all the usual sightseeing places from here. Ann can give you advise on where to go and what to see if you are not sure. Also make sure to ask her for her favourite places to eat locally as well.
I promise you if you stay here you will NOT be disappointed, in fact you will want to go back again!!

“Simply Amazing!! A Hidden Treasure”
Reviewed 29 August 2012 for a stay in July 2012

We were fortunate enough to choose Chateau Bavolier for a few days on our way to a wedding. From the moment the lovely owner Ann greeted us in the garden with a welcoming bottle of wine we knew we were in for a fabulous stay. The grounds are beautiful and Ann has restored the Chateau to the highest standard and her eye for detail is like none other. The Chateau could honestly be a movie set! Ann's knowledge of the local area on where to go and eat etc. made our time even better, if that was possible! She is a fantasic hostess and made us and the others staying there feel right at home. Believe me this is not a place to miss, we only had one regret and that was that we were only there for a few days, we will definately be back and it will be for much longer as there is alot to do and see in the vicinity.

“An extraordinary place”
Reviewed 6 May 2012 for a stay in May 2012

Nestling in the countryside near to Blaye, Bavolier is a kind of 17th century mini-model of a palace, full of columns, nooks, frescoes and plaster flourishes. I stayed with a friend from school. Returning from a walk in the vineyards, we felt like we'd slipped back in time a couple of centuries. The location is fantastic - great for touring wine country (close to Blaye, Margaux, St-Estephe, Paulliac etc etc and a few mins drive from Bourg), and also close to Bordeaux with its restaurants, nightlife and nice bars. It was fantastic being right in the middle of the countryside, but able to jump in the car for some shopping (the shops in Bordeaux are amazing - almost as good as the bars!). Ann Roberts is a wonderful hostess. I've often heard b&b owners SAY they treat guests like old friends, but with Ann it really was true.

“Not to be missed - well worth a visit”

We stayed in July 2011 but due to circumstances are only now posting to Trip Advisor. We would strongly recommend Chateau Bavolier. The owner, Ann Roberts goes above and beyond the call of duty ensuring her guests have an enjoyable stay. Ann's knowledge on the surrounding areas is second to none. Chateau Bavolier is very convenient to visiting Blaye, Bordeaux and the Medoc. The chateau itself has been beautifully and tastefully restored - the room we stayed in was lovely with a bathroom to die for! If ever we are in the area again and requiring accommodation, Chateau Bavolier would certainly be the first port of call.

“Beautiful chateau in the countryside”

We had a wonderful stay here our only wish was that the weather was a little kinder so that we could enjoy the grounds more.
The suite that we had couldn't have been better. Check out other reviews for the picture.
I'm sure that an all year around visit would be wonderful but a summers day and the welcome glass of wine can't be beaten.
Looking forward to our next stay.
