A great log cabin on the shore of Loch Awe. Great use of space, very nicely equiped and with the log burner & supply of logs, so cosy (snowing outside but still didn't need the heating on). The kids (7 & 5) enjoyed cycling around the site & local area, the small playground in the village and the nearby waterfall walk (good for little legs, 1.75 miles).

“Perfect Escape”

I visited the property as part of my anniversary celebrations with my wife (It would be strange if it wasn't I suppose). We were looking for a location with good walks without roughing it, we couldn't have asked for more...

When we arrived the cabin was spotlessly clean and once the heating roared up was lovely and cosy. The cabin is well equipped with a modern easy to use kitchen.

The surrounding area is one of the most beautiful I've ever seen (helped by the fact we seemed to have the forest to ourselves). Nearby are a number of clearly marked walks which often lead to rivers and waterfalls !

Down the road is Carnassarie Castle which you can explore (free of charge - no guides etc) which literally just has an open door... we didn't have he courage to walk the stairs to the tower !!!

Further along is Ardfern which had a lovely cafe making real home cooked food at a reasonable price.

We had all these plans before going up and in the end we just walked/explored through the day and at night kicked off our shoes, made a nice meal and curled up with a bottle of wine and a DVD... perfect !
