The apartment was very comfortable and clean. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen is very well equipped (we cooked every day). The main terrace receives the sun from sunrise to sunset which is great (we didn't use the upstairs, very large, terrace, but expect it would get sun all day too).
Cristina, the owner, made us feel most welcome and she is very attentive to her guests' needs.
In summary, this was the perfect apartment for a week in a lovely little town. We recommend this apartment, and the owner, most highly, and we hope to be able to stay here again.
My wife and I stayed in this apartment for three weeks from mid November, during which my sister in law joined us for a week.
We had good communication from the very pleasant owner ( Christina), who met us on arrival to show us round. We had two sets of keys which is great when you are staying for a while. Christina is fluent in English, perfected from her time spent living in the UK.
The apartment is on the third floor and is served by a lift. It is on two levels. The double and twin bedrooms, bathroom, living room and kitchen are on one level, and the level above has a twin bedroom with en suite shower/loo. The excellent washing machine is also up here. Access to the upper level is from the large balcony. The stone steps up are steep, so maybe not suitable for some people. However my sister in law liked it, and it is very self contained and private, so ideal for adult friends or older teenagers. There is a huge terrace on the upper level, with two sunloungers, and we were also able to put up an additional washing line.
We ate in most of the time, and the kitchen was well equipped with oven and hob, microwave, large fridge with good sized freezer, decent pans and utensils.
The apartment faces south, and in November/December gets sun from around 8am to just after 6pm, which is fantastic. You have a side view of the sea, and can sometimes hear the waves, as the beach is really close. The motorway isn't far, and you can hear that too, but it isn't too noisy.
When we saw the wind turbines we wondered if it might be a very windy spot (as some places in Tenerife are), but it wasn't. We had one really windy day and evening, when it wasn't pleasant to sit outside, but the rest of the time it was fine.
The double bedroom has a ceiling fan, which we did use a couple of times at night. There are also free standing fans in the apartment which we didn't need to use.
The wifi signal is excellent.
When we were there all the neighbours were extremely quiet. Being on the top floor we were very private, and spent a lot of time each morning on the balcony in our dressing gowns, eating breakfast and chilling.
Poris itself is a very small place. There is a nice sandy beach, good for children. Many people sunbathed on the concrete platform further along, and used ladders down to the sea for swimmimg. There are a lot of holiday apartments and villas, and most other holiday makers are German. There is a nice cafe at the beach that does coffee, drinks, snacks and tapas, and there is a beachside kiosk open in the afternoon, with seats and tables, selling beer and wine (one Euro for a plastic cup), ice creams etc. We went to both of these a lot! The cafe is tiny and very popular, so sometimes you have to wait for a seat.
There is also one Spanish restaurant and two local bars (one selling seafood tapas).
There is a pharmacy and two supermarkets. The one we we used was excellent and you could get pretty well everything you would need here, including good fruit and veg. If you didn't have a car I think you could manage fine for groceries.
We had a car for the three weeks, as we wanted to visit lots of different places. There is a local bus but it is only twice a day and it goes up into the hill villages above. More useful is the Titsa bus 111 which is every half an hour and goes from Santa Cruz to Adeje, stopping at towns and villages along the motorway and also calling at the airport.
We would recommend this apartment.
Excellent apartment! very nice decorated, very clean, sunny, view to the sea. Nice balcony from which you can see the sunrise and upstairs there is another terrase where we spent a lot of time on sunbathing :). Also, El Poris has a beautiful beach, which is just across the street. Everything- great caffe, supermarket is reachable in minute. Perfect kitchen equipment. Wifi is strong . Great memories! Thanks Cristina.
