Penhallow is an immaculate B&B situated in a quiet cul-de-sac & just a short walk to town center. There is a garden area that offers a peaceful outdoor spot to relax. Our king size room was well suited for our needs. The only snag with the room was that the mini fridge didn't work but we decided it wasn't needed. A kettle was available for tea & coffee. Biscuits were also provided.
Cath provided helpful information about the area. The breakfast mains were cooked to order & were fabulously delectable. In addition to the mains, there was toast, cereals, yogurt & juice available.
As it is comfortable, quiet & provides great breakfasts, we can solidly recommend the
Penhallow Guesthouse.

Stayed in this B&B for 3 nights with some friends to celebrate their wedding. Cath and Kevin are incredible hosts, nothing is too much trouble for them. The rooms are light and airy, we had a queen bed which was extremely comfortable. There are lots of little extra touches in the rooms such as jelly beans, biscuits and a varied choice of drinks. Breakfast is exceptional and there is plenty of it, can highly recommend the home made granola.....delicious!
This is probably one of the best B&B's we have ever stayed in and we will definitely be back.

Penhallow is a about half a mile from the centre of Hugh Town up and down a couple of short hills but no problem to those with good health. Our light and attractively furnished room met all our needs and was spotlessly clean with luxurious towels and bathrobes. The cooked breakfast was impeccably cooked and presented with the high quality bacon of particular note. The creamy porridge and fruit salad were also excellent. Our brief stay and inclement weather prevented us from enjoying the extensive and very attractive tiered gardens with commanding views from the patios.

3rd Visit and as good as ever. It is a pleasure to stay with Cath & Kevin. Despite windy weather and some "interesting" boat rides,we had an enjoyable holiday. Found a new cafe in the middle of the island (Koffe Huis) who make an apple strudel to die for. Beware Carn Vean cafe closed for the winter. Another one was Longstone which was very nice. With the interesting nature trail close by.
The Galley & Juliet's still our favourite restaurants.

Beautiful place to stay. The room was clean and tidy. There was plenty of choices for hot drinks in your room and also a bottle of filtered water. Each day there was a dish of jelly beans left .A lot of thought had gone into the room as there were tissues, cotton balls and buds and also make up removing pads. Also a hair dryer was in the rooms. The bathroom had beautiful soft fluffy towels and also hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, also hand lotion all in large containers .There was even a torch to take out night times as there are very few street lights. There was a iron available for your use. Also fresh milk if required. Breakfast was great plenty of choice including home made stewed fruit. Nothing was too much trouble. The owners were friendly and very welcoming. Beautiful gardens to relax in. There was no negative things to say about the place. Excellent value for money in fact could charge a lot more.

Room Tip: All rooms are exactly like on their website. Very good price compared to other guest houses there.
